Bought this TV earlier today. Was told that it gets power but nothing else. Got it home, confirmed that the Vizio light turns amber when the set is plugged in but the TV does not respond to anything (power button, remote, etc).
After taking off the back, no visible signs were evident. Based on previous posts I suspected that a reflow of U48 might solve the problem. Took out the mainboard, ran a heatgun over U48 for about 60 seconds and then waited for everything to cool down.
The TV has been running now for over an hour. I will repost if the issue pops up again, but...

Re: coby ledtv4626 46" LED TV
Would a video help diagnose the issue, or do you need further information from me?
That's the opposite of what I was hoping for. At least it didn't cost me anything.

coby ledtv4626 46" LED TV
Found this while driving home last week. Unfortunately it had started drizzling and by the time I got to it, there was a light misting of rain on the TV. I've spent the last couple of days trying to dry it out. Had a fan blowing on the front and then the back hoping to get it dry.
Powered it up today and the picture below is what I saw. The lines on the top 40% of the screen are regardless of the input and also show up in the menu.
My question is: Is this a panel issue or a board issue?...

Re: need help to test inverter transformer
Thank you for posting all this info. I tried replacing a single transformer more than a year ago and it didn't help. I got tired of looking at it in the corner of my office, so I took another look on the internet for other people experiencing this same issue. This time I bought two replacements and made sure to match the transformers as closely as possible. Fired the set up and *fingers crossed* it's working.
