    Well I can agree with the above comments. I'm glad forums like this exist sometimes you can get some bad info but in this case I couldn't ask for a better response. You guys were awesome.
    Some time ago I tried my hand at fixing another TV with a few bad capacitors. After replacing they and it didn’t fix my problem I set the TV in a corner and just haven’t had the heart to toss it out.     Well are you guys ready.... Drum roll please.... It was a loose connection from the xr buffer board. the coonection on the main control board to the buffer board was loose the flap of the connector that hold the ribbion down had came up. pushed it down and here is a pic of my working TV.

    Tom, I will check the connection maybe that is why I got that blue fuzz appear for a sec while moving the TV.

    as far as taking it out and testing I wouldnt be able to do the testing part I dont have a voltage generator. however the part is about $15 bucks so it might not hurt to order one.

    My dad is also works on cars and I did body work for a # of years. hence my questions. lol. I actully had to order a part once for my mom and i finally had to say ok if your sitting in the car what side is it on.

    The reason I ask is that I saw this pic and I would assume that it would be the right buffer board that would casue the left side of the screen to go out like it is.

    left x buffer failure pic is exactly what I have. now when I look from the back of the TV even though it says left x buffer it will be the one on the right correct. sorry if that a stupid question.

    Yes it is 1/3 of the screen and in posting #9 pic 5 those are the boards you mentioned. there is two buffer boards and the y-sus board. it is an upper and lower y-buffer. would you think that its just one of the buffer boards?

    Jon, that was a blue fuzz that only happend when i moved it while it was on. besides that moment i took the pic it stays a perfect black. yes its the same on all inputs. and the menu is cut in half as well. Now that I'm home I will try and get a better pic of the screen.
