I did found this Fujitsu Siemens Display a week ago, two caps were bad, so i removed and replaced those for a test.
I only get a fine display for a couple of seconds, then the display turned itself black.
I found in the forum that an inverter transformer was the culprit most of the time (SPI8TC00322)
I ordered one, removed the old one and replaced it with the new one.
Problem solved, the display is working fine ...

Re: Asus P58W-LA motherboard
I was just thinking, can this just be a problem related with the processor getting too hot, and a security shutting the computer down ? or a warped board ?
Can you just remove the heatsink and renew thermal paste ?...

So just a quick update, i removed all advised caps, collected the required units and soldered back (Panasonic FR)
And the display came back to life

Re: Fujitsu Siemens 23" LCD Scaleoview
Thanks,
No no cover over the top, the board is connected upside down.
I have found a set of Rubycon XYG but those are 330 µf 35 v and 680 µf 35 v
will those be suitable ?

Fujitsu Siemens 23" LCD Scaleoview
I collected this display for free yesterday, was advertised as a non working unit.
The previous owner explained that the display stopped working, now only showing a white screen.
I have removed the back cover, and the power supply has 3 bulging caps
The bads ones are Xunda brand, so probably a chinese poor quality product.
(2 x 220 µf 25 v and 4 x 680 µf 25v)
Also two Su Scon caps on the same board (taiwan ?) (470 µf 25 v)
I will probably remove all those and try a recap.
What capacitors...Last edited by bibilit; 05-30-2013, 01:58 PM.

Re: Jetway K8M8MS
It was just a quick fix, mainly to troubleshoot the board.
the board was rescued from the trash as explained earlier, and i didn't want to spend money without being a 100% sure of the diag.

Jetway K8M8MS
I rescued a motherboard from the trash (no ram, CPU...)
Two caps were obviously bad ( 1500 µf 6.3V)
I managed to remove the nasty ones, and new ones were welded back (taller but worked)
the new ones are 1650 µf 16 V, only had those available.
Working great now. ...Last edited by bibilit; 05-20-2013, 06:04 AM.
