I am sorry for abandoned this project. I had a lot of dire situations going on at the time..
where could I find specs when on at the voltage supply, inverters and main board?

well me thinks there is a something hot rod fm sythenizer better than this and cheaper. go figure.

Disclaimer: I would not know what I am talking about if I heard me last week right now. Everything I know I got from this Forum. Kudos.
When I say u33 'looks' good I mean appearance wise; visually. I have seen bad u33s on this forum and they looked like it would be a problem. No I have not metered it nor do I know how. I just know where it's at and NOT what it does.Last edited by wdmickjr; 05-07-2013, 04:36 PM.Leave a comment:

yes I could take readings. yet i suppose i will have to wait on the used VX42L cable bundle i purchased from ebay.
I have removed all boards and checked for ANY discoloration, bloated, broken, cracked, on loose. that is where and when i found the black wire from the keypad to main board defective.
i have NO logo light at all, perhaps from no good ground from the keypad/main board connection cable. so i am waiting on that.

I have a non working Vizio VX42L HDTV10A.
It was bought 11/2007.
I live in the rural and there has been a lot of dirt bikes and ATVs running about. Here in Arkansas I has been very dry the last couple of summer seasons, and there fore lots of dust. I was concerned of the TV and other electronics ingesting some of this dust.
So the other day I went to turn on the Blu-Ray player and the Vizio TV. I heard a pop, and low and behold, the TV Vizio logo turned from amber to white, yet no sound or no picture. It would not turn off via remote or power button on the side. I unplugged... -

Hello. my name is William and i have a non-working vizio vx42L hdtv 10a. no sound no pic. the vizio light is on amber and power up with remote and power button on side of unit. but will not turn off unless ii is unplugged.
it just happened one day, it would not come on.
i have reviewed your posts, before pullig it off the wall, and thought it would be a bad capaictor. no avail. they all look good.
the u33 looks good. as a matter of fact everything looks good, nothing burnt nor leaking nor bloated....Leave a comment:
