  • Vizio VW22LHDTV10T freezes up and turns volume to 0

Got this TV from a buddy.

If you don't use it for a while, you can turn it on, turn volume up or down, change channels, etc...

If you use it every day, you can get it to turn on, and that's about it. And that's after cycling through all the buttons on the side once or twice, it will eventually turn on, but not let you change the channel, input, volume, etc....

Basically, it turns the volume down to 0, and does not let you touch any other controls. I've tried cleaning the buttons none seem to be stuck.

From what I can see there's really...

That's what I figured. Chased this problem before on a plasma TV. Luckily the place I got the power supply from has offered to send me a new one just incase.

So as a shot in the dark, I bought a power board and slapped it in. Worked for about 10 seconds, the display had a bunch of lines and grainy picture, then stopped working again. I'd imagine I've either fried the power board again or blown the small white fuse out.

    Any ideas?

Sorry, alls I've got is my cell phone and the camera blows on it. Let me see if I can borrow something to take a decent picture from my mom.

I found what looks like what you're referring to labeled F101, would this be the fuse I need to test?

Also, am I testing this with the TV on?

Also forgot to add, I cannot see any menus or anything.

I've tried unplugging it, discharging everything by holding the power button 30 seconds, the plug back in, still the same results.

Vizio logo flashes until I hold the power button. Then the logo goes solid (but dim, to indicate it is off). I then press the power button and just get a backlit black screen, no picture just blank.

When I did a google image of the SMD fuse you mentioned, I didnt see one on the T-Con board, but it could just be my ignorance....

Alright so I finally got around to taking some pictures.

Had a death in the family so I was a little delayed in my repairs.

    Anyway, here are the pictures:

I'll take some pictures and test the fuse tonight as soon as I get home. Thanks for the response, I'd rather not blindly buy a power board and end up having to buy something else.

Picked up this TV from a buddy 1 month out of warranty.

When you initially plug it in, the Vizio symbol blinks twice, pauses, then blinks continuously until you hold the power button. It then goes solid (dim, but solid).

After a 10 count you can turn the TV on. It has no picture, but there is a backlight. I dont know what input it's on so I haven't been able to figure out if sound will still come out.

From a quick google search, I've seen that the issue could be the power supply, but I don't want to dump money into it without knowing a single thing...
