  • Re: Panasonic sc tnpa5081 rebuild

Also found IC16562, -one of the buffer ICs faulty, these ICs actually get power from the A-board (main board)
PC16461 (opto coupler) was also low, so replaced that.
Couldnt find anything else wrong and plugged it in to the set with SD and SU removed and SC50 shorted.
Well, didnt even make a noise, blinking 7 times after few secs and most of the big transistors dead again.
This board had blown the face off one of the parts when I first checked the TV, but no parts had been replaced.
I have given up on this board now,...

  • Re: TNPA5105 SC Repair KITS.

Found a faulty SC board in my pile of dead parts out of an THP50G10, this has many sections and even the location numbers the same, and am currently canabalising this for the remaining parts. See how this ends up soon.

couldnt get the Q16702 transistors, anyway all the other parts arrived and I have found more dead stuff. Im rebuilding 2 boards at onece TNPA5081 for a 50"
and one for 54" set which I had lying around after replace ment. Seriously should have written the last set off though,

Thanks tw2005, I did end up ordering from utsource, getting enough parts to do a few boards, they have everything except one transistor so lets see. Would be good to find out why all the parts blow in the first place, Panasonic would know and should put out a rebuild advice if they are unwilling to supply complete boards now for some times only 3 year old TVs.

    Hi tw 2005
I have been looking throughthe threads on TNPA5081, since the board is no longer available in Oz through Panasonic.
Generaly I shy away from repairs where parts have blown on a board all over the place instead of just one bank of transistors, have to admire your persistance on these boards.

Unfortunatly I have to now try to fix one or two of the SC boards. where is the best place of getting all the parts in one hit, or is it better to just get a kit, some seem to have most of the stuff required, driver ICs smd...
