Sanyo DP50747 - powers on for seconds then off
Hey all was hopping through some posts here looking for some info on this Sanyo DP50747. Can't seem to locate a thread with the same issues.
Standby led functions. Turn set on a light on possibly the control board blinks and after 6 seconds or so the set turns off. It will allow me to turn it back on but has the same issues.
Checked all fuses. All good. No physical telltale signs of bad caps. Anyone have a service manual or some ideas of what to check?
Thanks

Re: Vizio vw37l hdtv10a
Thanks for the information bud. So disconnect all other boards on the ps and check the SMPS? I checked the rectifier without power and it tested fine, unless there is a secondary one that I have yet to see. Can you describe in better detail what I need to check and in what order? Just to be clear.

Re: magnavox 42mf438b/27 problem
Wow you must have a decent amount of moisture in your air for this to occur. The metal that is rusted is just part of the inner frame and most likely not a big deal. That is as long as the connection is not being rusted on the front or back and that the internal boards are not rusting. I would at the very least do my best to clean the rust up and try to find out where all of the added moisture is coming from and remedy that.

Re: Vizio vw37l hdtv10a
Pretty sure the 170vdc is correct without the set being on. I am definitely checking my lower voltages to chassis ground but I haven't rechecked yet. I will do so soon and report my findings....

Re: Lg42lb5 no standby or turn on
I'm with jeadm124t something seems screwy. There should be around 170v on that main capicitor with the set plugged in but not turned on and seeing 50v is rather strange. If that cap is truly measuring that I would replace it. When checking your 5v be sure you are testing hot to chassis ground. Not earth ground.

I will recheck again but I didn't see any voltage across any of the three connectors....

Re: Where to get service manuals for main boards
Have you checked http://toms-service-manuals.com
Most of the time the service manuals do a fairly good job at determining component replacement on main boards. Not so much on power supplies though.Re: Where to get service manuals for...pplies though.Re: Where to get service manuals

Re: Vizio vw37l hdtv10a
Yeah that's the PS. The solder joints were okay but I reflowed them just to be sure there wasn't a fine crack. Also the black and red marks were just to show the f1 fuse location....

Vizio vw37l hdtv10a
I hijacked an older forum hoping someone had a shortcut to help me find what may be wrong with this set. Decided it would be best to just start my own thread and hopefully with your help we can get this tv up and running so I can give it to my grandparents.
Background: TV appears to have taken a surge from the AC coming into the unit. Other than some discoloration on the chassis and slight black discoloration around the AC terminations everything seems to look good appearance wise. No buldged caps, no burnt fuses, no popped resistors, etc.
After plugging the TV in...

Re: My HDTV won't detect my computer Help!
Update your video drivers on your computer. Verify the HDMI port is working by connecting to another device. If using win vista + and if still not working try to force find the TV by pressing windows key + p and tell it to connect to a projector and pick the hdmi output.
Good luck!

Re: Vizio VW37L - NO PICTURE, NO SOUND
I have no standby power at pson so no light at all. Also have no 12 or 24v dc on the connectors.
I may just buy a new power supply as they are around $25.00 USD now, but at the same time fixing a set for a few dollars is still better imo. I also want to rule out a bad main board as well before purchasing....

Re: Vizio VW37L - NO PICTURE, NO SOUND
Vinceroger69 I sent you a message and believe that you are most probably correct that it is actually in reference to the f2 on the main board. I will continue checking.

Re: Vizio VW37L - NO PICTURE, NO SOUND
Sorry I did not see your edit. The main board does have an f1 and f2 both of which tested fine. The service manual states the power supply board f2 should have 5 volts though. Those fuses are fine but I don't have dc present on the j connectors goin to the main board to power them. The bridge rectifier tests fine as well....

Re: Vizio VW37L - NO PICTURE, NO SOUND
Sorry to bump an old thread. I grabbed the service manual for this unit and am going through troubleshooting as I have 0v at pson. Manual says to check f2 on the ps but for the life of me I can't find F2's location.
Anyone?
