I've noticed that this happens randomly, I've tried with three cables and got the same thing. Quick start setting doesnt affect this, I will try HDMI control (always off in my set).
How do you install the usb fan???

After two weeks, It keeps working only modified std settings hdmi control off and quick start yes. No issues for now

I will have the chip next week from same provider, I've found a couple of experienced guys here to help me replacing the new chip. I will post my result.

I have the 7400 and looking with 2 lenses the chip is the 6408 (labeled as U4 in pcb)...or the programmed eeprom for $40 shipped within a week:

Actually I'm worry about desoldering the chip and solder the new one, which is the best method? has the chip any kind of glue sticked to pcb? Excuse me but I'm not very experienced...

I left unplugged for a couple of months and tried today and is stll in failure, so that trick didnt work for me anymore...I hope that someday a permanent solution appear...until now I have a black panel
even is difficult for me to send the to repair the main board, since I live in south america...maybe someday

that happend to me three times and going for the fourth now, and I'm looking for some kind of permanent fix, sharing my experience with this devil's display. I bought this in best buy miami last july and get it to argentina....so the warranty is over for me, the international warranty in my country simply does NOT work as expected.
Unfortunately I dont have the big answer, and if I do, I would be pretty close to the final solution...since it seems to be a software issue, who knows?Leave a comment:

In my case, the two blink fail goes away every 2-3 months having the set unplugged, so for now I have to wait a couple of months for next try, then it worked for a couple of days or so, and then fails again...I have the sony remote so I will be able to try the hard reset and clear for alarms...maybe that is the trick. The drawbak is that I dont know where the charge is, but I'm sure ir disappear after some time. And if you do not have a sony remote I guess you can use any all4one coded for this. Ok got it, based on symptoms I believe that the unit works, but there is some resident charge which provocates the failure, and that makes me think in caps or alarms presnt on diagnostic memory, that causes the protection to trigger over and over until that charge disappear and really takes a long time, so after turn it on would be a good idea to reset factory defaults to clear all previous diagnostics...

I have this display since about a year, started to work good until the red blinking twice one day...I never open it and after about two months I pluced and work again for a few days...the same thing three times. So there has to be some resident charge that affect and trigger the failure, my first guess is a capacitor, which seems to be good quality 105°C instead 85°C.
