Dell 3007wfp - no power led - does not turn on
Bought a working Dell 3007 at auction, which was listed as not powering up.
However, it didn't work for long, and it died while I was trying to load the drivers.
No screen, no LED, no life, no nothing.
I read the 3008 thread with interest and so thought I'd try to replace Scottky D221 but
I blew the house earth leakage detector as soon as I plugged it back in.
Struggling, and would appreciate some advice.
Hoping.

Re: Dell 3008wfp faulty power supply
Thanks for the advice,
I was a bit surprised that there was so much info on the 3008 and very little on the 3007.
Tried replacing a comparable Schottky on mine and blew the house earth leakage detector.
Sigh - think I'm going to need all the help I can get!
What's the electronics version of girding the loins? Grabbing a hold of your toroids maybe?
Cheers

Re: Dell 3008wfp faulty power supply
G'day all,
I have a 3007 which doesn't power up.
Is there a thread for this model? I haven't been able to find one. There seems to be heaps of info on the 3008 but not much on the earlier model.
I tested the 3 Schottkys I could find in-circuit and they seem to be OK.
I'd be grateful for any assistance.
Cheers
