Re: Asus P4P800-SE no boot no beep chipset warm/hot
I have capped a 5 of these & I own 4 that are running now as you might have read my post https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=31005
My experience is if you don't see caps bulging then don't waste your time.If I see one or 2 of the 1500uf 6.3v 8mm 20mm bulging then I will just do all 7
Or if one or 2 of the 820uF 6.3v 8mm 12mm then I do all 17 of those
If no sign of any bad caps the board is toast.Re: Asus P4P800-SE no boot no beep c... capped a 5 of

Re: Asus P4P800 SE Recap no boot
HM on the 820uF 6.3v 8mm 12mm
And HZ for the 1500uf 6.3v 8mm 20mm
But on 2 of the boards I ran out of the HZ & I put PA (m)
The PA ones were in a working board I removed today as it was having reboot issue when playing video I had only replaced the 7 1500uf on that board & I have found one had a bad solider jointI sill am a rookie at this. If the PA is no good then I will swap but all I have right now are the HZ

Re: Asus P4P800 SE Recap no boot
Well I recapped the board with the OST caps on it today. I saw no signs of blown caps on that board. Still no boot just got fans & lights Wasted lot of time & money thus far.
So far I have replaced 2 bad caps that you could clearly see were bad on one board & it came back to life for a few months It died & I replace all the caps no boot
Replaced 2 caps on another its running now but having random reboots so I need too do all the caps on that one & pray it works
Thus far I am 1 for 3 &...

Re: Asus P4P800 SE Recap no boot
Thanks for the response guys. Yes it could be KZG as I have that board installed & it hard to read when in the case.
I have done a close inspection of the board bright light & a pair of my daughters old glasses mega magnified LOL I am not sure how to spot traces or bridge any photo examples ?

Asus P4P800 SE Recap no boot
Ok I have 5 of these boards. Yes I know they are old but they run fine. We run lot of older programs & have a lot of custom setups that are all ghosted so the thought of redoing all that on new system make me want to cry So keeping these boards alive is best option.
I have some knowledge about electronics & soldiering but you guys loss me with the VRM & ESR talk so go easy on me
This board has 7 1500uf 6.3v 8mm 20mm
And 17 820uF 6.3v 8mm 12mm
The rest are those little one & from what I read will not cause a no boot all of the little ones...
