I have one on order. Shipped today, should be here by next Wednesday.

I went ahead and checked the buffer boards and they seem to be OK and I tried freezing the IC. No go.

Guess I will have to put it on hold until I get the IC in the mail. Will post results once I get the chip and have a chance to install it.

    Thanks.

The problem I am experiencing is that when you press the on button the green led flashes for a few seconds, then goes steady but there is no image. If you shut the tv off and then immediately press the on button again the green led goes through the same flashing but when it goes steady there will be an image.Press the key again, image....

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hello from Maine. Joined forum to get answers fixing TV's. Started by repairing a bunch of the Hitachi projection TVs with the defective convergence chips. At one point everyone in my family had a 42" or higher Hitachi.
Have since moved on to LCD and Plasma. The caps part seems to be a straight-forward repair, it's the more involved issues I'll need help with. Absolutely no formal electronics training other that what I've been able to learn on the web.
I look forward to interacting with and learning from all...
