Re: Acer V223w

Finally got around to opening it up... Couldn't see anything wrong with anything... But when putting the thing together I managed to completely ruin the cable between the logic board and the panel AND the connector for it on the panel so this thing is screwed now for sure.

I'm happy to sell or give away any of the parts for this thing if anyone is interested, let me know. (I'm in Sweden.)

By the way, the panel inside it is an LG LM220WE1.

    Thanks everyone for your time!!!

    Re: Acer V223w

Hello again, sorry to not let this go but I just tested it a few last times before tucking it away, and I just think my first video was a bit misleading, particularly because the "judging by the static location of those vertical lines"...

Every time the monitor is turned on, the lines will appear at different locations, and at many times, everything will look perfect for several seconds, until one or two blocks of lines appear at a random location, and only after that everything freaks out until the monitor is reset.
    Usually though, the...

Alright, thanks! I'll have a look around and see if I can find another one, otherwise I guess don't mind making this one an organ donor if anyone need parts from it.

    Acer V223w

    Hello,

I found a broken Acer V223w. Graphics is completely messed up (vertical lines, colour fades, etc). Video of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-RObftY2KE

I haven't even popped it open yet, from what I've read here the panel is probably borked and there's no hope of saving it. Is this right?

    Thanks!https://Hello,

I foun...'t even popped

  • Re: Samsung LS24A300BS, works without video cable, black screen with cable

    THANK YOU!

Sure thing, ran the firmware update (the one that came from samsungs web site) and now it works like a charm. In my defense, I actually tried that before dismantling the monitor, but it said "all monitors are up to date" or something like that. Either it didn't detect the samsung because I used VGA or because the firmware update wasn't compatible with the graphics in that laptop or something. Using DVI on a different computer did the trick though. I can't...

Hmm, made a little mistake, here's whats happening in different situations:

    * No VGA or DVI cable: "Check signal cable / digital". Pressing the mode button will make it try analog and then show the same message again. All this seems normal.

    * VGA cable inserted, but NOT connected in the other end, OR, connected to a turned of PC: Blank screen, flashing power indicator. Seems normal (= standby)

    * VGA or DVI cable inserted, and with video signal: Dead! No backlight....

  • Samsung LS24A300BS, works without video cable, black screen with cable

    Hey everyone! First post!

I have a Samsung LED LCD monitor that someone else had given up on (SyncMaster SA300 LS24A300BS, the last two letters seem to specify the build quality...). The problem with the monitor is that when no VGA/DVI cable is connected, it seems to work fine - backlighting glows, and the standard "no signal" message is shown on the screen, forever, so there seems to be no problem with the panel itself as far as I can tell.
As soon as I plug in a DVI or VGA cable, the screen goes black (no backlighting). With DVI it just goes black but power indicator...
