this is my dads tv.. he said that what happened...
power failed.. then his generator came on.. tv worked.
when power came back and generator powered down and house power(ac?) came up tv stopped workin.. that is all i had to go by
it is 200v 560 uF and i do not have a way to measure.. but.. it is about the size of a quarter in diameter.
other number on it.. KMQ 77s108? nippon chemi? 105 degrees

in the (200) ohm i get no reading no matter which probe i use

got the suspected cap out
tested with black lead on the Neg term of cap and red on other
at 200ohm.. 0.8

my meter does not have the specific capacitor test mode..
would i just use the (200) ohm setting? if so

first, and i am lol a bit, i am very new to all this tv stuff.. i repair pcs.. and build pcs. so i usually just replace parts, board, and build..
yes that capacitor does look a bit rounded to me now that you have better eyes than me and i got the board in front of me ( that what i am lol about)
ok that capacitor is very close to fuse also.. how in the world would i check that or remove as i am aware that caps can shock you.....Leave a comment:

ok what do you think i should try next.. mosfets?
if so there seem to be like 6 on here. 3 in one location all on 1 heat sink.. and 3 each on their own heat sink?
ok i am trying to test what i think are mosfets..they have 3 terminals.. but somewhere on here i read they should have a "Q" mark on board.

in ohms at 200 setting...
i get .8

well i am a bit confused.. when i set multimeter to 200 ohm i not really gettin any readings at all, but when i set it to 200k i can get some numbers.
also when i set it to diode mode and check this is what i get IN DIODE MODE,
starting with red pin on the + terminal going left to right (+ ~~ -)
+=1
~=2 and 3
-=4
pin 1-2 nothing just a 1 on left side
1-3 same as 1-2
1-4 same as 1-2
red on 2
2-1, 554
2-3, no number

seems pin 1-4 whether i use red on 1 and black on 4..or reverse that.. gets no reading..

With power off you want to see if it shorted between pins 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 2-3, 2-4 and 3-4. Report all 6 ohms readings.
assuming 200k ohm settings...
pin 1-2, 131.1
pin 1-3, 133.0
pin 1-4, 00.1
pin 2-3, no number or 1
pin 2-4, 130.1
pin 3-4, 132.3
if u need me to include numbers for diode meter...
pin 1-2, 563
pin 1-3, 562
pin 1-4, 001

ok i am gonna test the one you said should be the bridge..the one that is attached to heat sing looks like the other one it has 4 leads also.. but i will check.. one question though you say i shoud check ohms.. my meter has diode meter. should i use that? if not and i use ohms.. what level should i set it at?...Leave a comment:

well i am always eagor to learn a thing or two..and from what i can tell, this could teach me how to make a few dollars.. many lcd tvs in the garbage lately. suspect most may not be really hard to fix...hopefully..
