I took it apart and resoldered everything, with fresh batteries in my solder iron. It works perfectly now!! I guess the soldering was just terrible and the contacts weren't made well. Thanks to you guys for replying! It's great having such quick responses. =D

My Samsung Syncmaster 2232BW was having problems starting up some time ago, and I figured it was the capacitors that were faulty. So, I bought myself a few new capacitors and a solder iron to try and change them. Unfortunately, due to me being a miser, I bought the cheapest solder iron I could find and it was appalling. I probably destroyed the PCB with that piece of junk.

So, the result of my attempted DIY is an LCD monitor that starts up just fine (an improvement, I guess), but shows nothing but pure white....
