The TV was purchased new for the Day Program for disabled adults where I work. This was 5 years ago and there's NO money in the State-funded budget for a replacement. I was really crossing my fingers on this one. Thanks.

I came across a Westinghouse SK-32H240S at work that was getting tossed for the "Two Seconds to Black" syndrome. I did a search on the symptoms and came up with the BadCaps site. I pulled the board and saw the telltale burn mark. I ordered 3 transformers @ $12.00 each on eBay. I've done a fair amount of soldering with a Weller gun type for automotive applications but never touched any IC soldering. I watched a tutorial on desoldering and bought a fancy "solder sucker". I used a pencil type 40w iron and had tremendous success. The desoldering/soldering went perfectly....
