Re: Toshiba C655D No AC power, will run off battery.
I replaced the MOSFET on one of these laptops with the bad Q6002, and now it will detect and boot from the AC adapter.
However, it detects the battery, but says (0%, charging) for hours on end, but doesn't actually charge the battery. The battery is dead from before when it would only work off the batt. The battery is not defective as I can charge it in another device.
Is there another MOSFET I should be checking maybe more than one shorted out?

Re: Identify this IC please?
Thanks so much. Do you think that I could use this to replace a N4800LS for a laptop I'm working on?
I see a 4800 in there so I'm hoping I don't have to wait for a special order from digikey....

Identify this IC please?
it is an 8 pin chip on a laptop motherboard. The writing on it is as follows:
4800
CS
L35A
The schematic says it is location "PQ1". I am hoping it is a spare MOSFET for another laptop i'm working on.
Googling or searching for these numbers on mouser etc does not tell me for sure if it's a MOSFET. Thanks~!

Re: Toshiba Satellite C655 won't run off AC. Need schem.
question, with the DEAD MOSFET, do you remember when the battery died, it wouldn't even begin to charge it again?
To get mine going after a full battery failure, I have to jump start charge a little the battery using a car battery 12v source for a minute, then it will begin to charge only while the machine is off.
Wondering also, how do you test to see if the MOSFET I have is indeed bad like yours was?
