Just looked at what I typed 470mF and I meant to say 820mF don't know where I got the smaller value from. Ha! I think I been looking at too many Capacitors.

I have not worked out how to edit my messages after the have been posted yet or even if it is possible.

Have build a few full wave PS but that was many years ago and these IP ones have a lot more extra parts to them. Besides I can assemble things from named parts, make meter measurements,...

Yes 30% would be a bit much. That would make it too easy. :-)

So is the 20% just for the uF or all of the other specs as well.

I don't know if I have got it correct, but I worked out that 20% of 820uF would be about -or + 164 difference so it could be 656uF and 984uF so perhaps I can't use a 1000uF in its place. The 20% on the 1000uF is I think about - or + 200 so it could be a 800uF or a 1200uF.

I followed that link. The RS online Chat people are very helpful although when used that feature there was nobody there, but shortly after I got an e-mail back with an answer. So pretty good I think.

Interesting to see that the EEUFR1E821 25V 820uF and the EEUFR1E102 25 1000uF Caps have the same specs and are a suitable size i.e.

Lots of interesting links to look at and I liked the photos on your site.

It would seem that heat is the worst enemy of these caps even the better Brands. I usually go for Panasonic stuff and had been looking at Sumsung but if they are using cheap caps in their products that sort of puts me off.

The Samsung Sync Master 931BW 19" Monitor was really nice and although I though I could smell burning sometimes I could never really...

Great Website!

I have the same problem with my power supply and the old CapXon Caps are not shown in their latest or older 2008 catalogue. Therefore I have no idea what the Ripple Current and Max Impedance (Ω) at 20℃ 100KHz should be.

The new CapXon 820uF size is too high at 25mm and the smaller option is different in Ripple Current and Impedance. Not that I want to replace them with CapXon ones as other members have advised better Brands.
