LG t.v. - 42PB4DA Channel on then no signal

I've seen some success with troubleshooting assistance for plasma tvs so I thought I'd give it a try. I have an LG 42PB4DA that I purchased just short of 5 years ago. And with the exception of one nagging problem, it's been a pretty good unit.

My issue doesn't seem to be constant and not necessarily repetetive. I can turn on a station, sometimes AMC, sometimes FX and maybe one other channel but most frequently these two. It will come on for maybe 3 or 4 seconds, the screen will freeze then I will here a sound like it's winding down and it goes to NO SIGNAL. In order to get anywhere...
