Well there is plenty of stuff already on TNPA5105 rebuilding . I wish to share here my problem of removing and reinserting SMD parts , and I got around this using the flat heater pads that ladies use to straighten their hair . Placing those heater pads under circuit board helps removal and adding SMD parts .

I am not sure what your problem is ,but I am mentioning something that I did with a 14" colour tv smps of Panasonic that had came in with smps not working and the switching IC 16 pin had been discontinued , this IC had the vcc pin shorted with ground . On further examination of ic's internal circuit discovered that this IC employed had an built-in 12v Zener at the vcc pin for protection . Used an external voltage and current regulated supply with voltage at 12 volts and gradually increased the current to blow up the internal shorted Zener which did solve...
