  • Re: Hp 6735s no display

Perhaps I'm not describing this right. Someone told me this was called a graphics inverter. It's a little white connection point on the motherboard. about 30mm by 3mm.

A monitor wouldn't work in this, it's not the vga port or whatever it's the little point on the motherboard. It has about 20 little copper connections inside it.

    I'm such a n00b. Please forgive me.

Apologies guys for posting the wrong section.

There's no apparent damage to the port itself. I think I might have pushed the "plug" (if that's the right word) from the laptop screen, into the port, slightly off center.

I'm trying to find a picture of the port in question, I don't have the laptop here. Keeps showing me pictures of the back of the board.

This is the board in question. This link is the best I can get shows multiple views. On the picture showing the front of the board the port is that...

  • Hp 6735s no display

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum so please don't beat me for unintentional violations.

Ok I've done tech sup for Hp's It helpdesk but this issue is a little beyond me.

I seem to have damaged the little port on the motherboard where the graphics cable from the laptop screen connects to. Basic troubleshooting on a friends machine reveals it's the port on the board and not the screen cable connector.

Is this fixable? Or do I need a new board?

Limited budget at the moment so I'd like to avoid this if possible.

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hi guys the names Kevin from Northern Ireland.

Just here to get some help with a motherboard issue I'm having.

Was in tech support for a while, fairly experienced with general troubleshooting etc, unfortunely nothing that would help me fix this problem. Which of course is what brings me here.
