I know this is an old thread but I wish to continue it - I picked up the same model and have nearly the same problem. I have tried a new T-CON (2 in fact), a tuner, and a power supply all with no change to the symptoms.

As long as no signal is applied it appears normal - menu functions normally, inputs can be selected, all looks well. Apply a signal Ant, Cable, video, pc and in about 2-3 seconds the screen looks like someone pours black in on it from the bottom and it flows UP. Power off/on same results. Sound is NOT affected....

Hey guys. Seems like a good bunch. Probably older than most and just moved to Phoenix from Denver. Worked in TV and electronic repair back in the stone age then got into computers and now really only do things for myself. Real name is Lew but I couldn't use that back in 95 when I had AOL and it's the only nym I use.
