Hello guys, new to the forums here and hoping I could get some help!

I've some knowledge in the computer field but still rusty when it comes to capacitors and such so please bare with me.

I received a 2009 MacBook Pro A1278. When I got it, it was completely dead and had no charger. Bought a charger and started charging it up, the battery now has a full charge. However, when the power button is pressed it is lifeless. No chime, no fan spin, no drive spin, nothing. I read about the power pads on the board and tried that, it'd spark very faintly but still nothing. Tried...
