Re: Insgnia NS-LCD26A:have power & audio, video comes on after 15 minutes
After more testing, I believe its the red cap. I did more isolation to ensure I was only hitting it with the heat and not the other components and heating it solves the problem. I have been turning on the TV from a "cold start" the past 3 hours and it is starting right up which it was only starting after heating the red cap....so I don't know what I did but it seems to be fixed. If it acts up again, replacing the red cap looks pretty simple. Is that what you would suggest?

Re: Insgnia NS-LCD26A:have power & audio, video comes on after 15 minutes
It seems like it is the resistor, the grey component. I isolated and heated each of the components in that corner and everything points to the resistor, the grey component. Does that make sense? Its definitely not the transformer or the Red cap as I'm pretty sure I did a good job of isolating those components while heating the resistor.

Re: Insgnia NS-LCD26A:have power & audio, video comes on after 15 minutes
I have narrowed the area to where transformer LC306 is located (see photo). Heating the caps made no difference. I've turned it off and let it cool then reheated LC306 about 3-4 times and I get a picture immediately. So do I replace PS or try to replace LC306?...

Re: Insgnia NS-LCD26A:have power & audio, video comes on after 15 minutes
You're a genius!! Heating the power supply did the trick (but I heated a wide area)! It will be tough isolating the specific area on the PS as it is so small and the hairdryer ends up heating a fairly wide area. I will (1) turn it off, l(2) et it cool, (3) heat a small area of the board, (4) turn it on see if it works, then repeat 1-4 untilI can isolate it.
Speaking of old TVs, I have a 1964 black and white RCA in my basement....not sure why though!!!

Re: Insgnia NS-LCD26A:have power & audio, video comes on after 15 minutes
One other point: after it is up and running and I shut it off (and it is presumably warmed up), I turn it on and it acts the same way....it takes about 10 mins to get the picture. I will still dry the hairdryer though.

Insgnia NS-LCD26A:have power & audio, video comes on after 15 minutes
The unit has power, has backlight, and screen initially shows a grey color, then has colored veritical lines along the left, right, center of screen (moves and varies as time passes), then after about 15 minutes the picture comes on and stays on for hours, as though nothing is wrong. Any ideas?

Re: Sharp 37" LCD Panel 5 Volt Failure
Before I recieved your message on testing L9601, I disassembled the unit down to where I could open and close/reseat the ribbon wires going to the LCD screen. (I had replaced two bulbs so I had the unit completely apart before. I thought perhaps the screen wasn't getting the signal) Anyway, I started the unit up, did a rest with the volume and channel buttons, plugged it into the cable, and it is working!! Thanks for your help! Hopefully this thread can help others in a similar situation......Cheers and God Save the Queen!!!

Re: Sharp 37" LCD Panel 5 Volt Failure
I will get a picture but one of the parts suppliers that I have used before indicated that there is no separate T-con board for this model.

Re: Sharp 37" LCD Panel 5 Volt Failure
Yes this model LC-37D44U does not have a T-con. How do I test the main board or should I assume with the error code and no picture but do have audio that it is the main board?

Sharp 37" LCD Panel 5 Volt Failure
I have the following error code: POWER LED 2, OPC LED 5. In a post from June of last year a forum member indicated that this would represent a Panel 5 volt failure.
How do I repair a Panel 5 volt failure? I have a 37" Aquos that fell off a shelf. I have replaced a broken power board and two CCFL backlights. I checked the backlights before closing up the unit and they were all working. The TV comes on, gives me the error code, I do a reset, the power light no longer blinks, then can get the audio to work and backlights to work but no picture.
