    @ PlainBill
    8. There is a display, but colors are wrong, vertical or horizontal lines,
I've got this exact issue with this same model (V223W) I've been told with this problem, just throw it away there is nothing we can do to fix it. And I see your answer is that its trouble lol. I do wonder what causes this. My best guess is the chip on film.

  • Re: Is this low ESR?

Thank you y_not & mariushm! I've sent a couple emails asking about the brand but no response on that regard, so I'm guessing its not too great. I will let my ordering department know about digikey.com or mouser.com & hopefully they have what I need.

Thanks again & have a good weekend!

    Is this low ESR?

    Hello all,
From what I've read on other threads, I don't think this is going to be considered low ESR but just want to make sure. Our cap vendor is out of the capacitor that I usually order that specifically says "low ESR", they only have tall ones that don't fit in anything. The caps i'm trying to order are for monitors.
Our vendor found these available but they do not specify it as a "low ESR" Here are the details:
    • CAPACITOR ALUM ELEC, 1000UF, 16V, 20%, RADIAL
    • Capacitance: 1000uF
    • Capacitance Tolerance: ± 20%
    • Diameter:...

  • Re: Already Replaced Cap- Blown again

Thank you all for the your response. I showed the replies to my supervisor who has since purchased better caps (good brand names that are listed on here & low ESR)

    Thanks again!!

  • Already Replaced Cap- Blown again

    Hello,
This is my first post on badcaps.net I have an Acer AL2216W that had a bad cap (bulging on top) I replaced all caps and a week later the same one that failed, bulged again & now there is no power again. I seem to have this problem with Acer monitors more than any other. I replace the caps, and the same one always fails within a week. The replacement cap I used is a JakeC 10v 1000uf.
I also repair several hp 1706 monitors & many times the same three caps will fail after a month & it is always the three 10v 1000uf. Besides JakeC i've also used nichicon and maxcap....
