Smartphone Lenovo Vibe K5 screen upgrade
I bought 1920x1080 screen ( Vibe K5 PLUS) for my broken 1280x720 screen (Vibe K5). They have exactly same layout and same graphic Adreno 405. When I attach the screen there is no backlight or picture. Is it possible to use some hardware mod or to put custom rom from VIBE K5 PLUS? -

Because PCH is unchangable is there any way to cut some line that is going to PCH usb 3 regulator and get partly working motherboard without usb ???
Also is there some table what different motherboard model is nearly compattible with this chassis ??? -

If I desolder PJP8704 then +3VADSWO and +5VSUS get 3.3V and 5V. So probably regulator PU8701 even it heats a little, it gets all the signal and give output. What to do next, any help??Leave a comment:

Before injecting tell me on the regulator chip is it ok 3VADSWO_EN and 5VSUS_EN to have same voltage 3.23V because I think on 5VSUS_EN pin it should be 5V, am I right?
Here it is the boardview I'm using(only some parts are missing on my version,but position of parts i same)

Hello ,
I'm trying to repair X556UJ ver.2 laptop mainboard. Board came with damaged USB 3.0 connector that I have desoldered, but board is dead, no led is on.
I have boardview and some repair guide for version 1.0 and I have 3.3v on power button.
I have measured some voltages on first regulator and I have +3va, +5va , this is the only heating element and on pin 14 +5VSUS voltage is 0V.
On battery connector rtc_ldo 3.3v is 2.8v, and on SIO ec_on is 3.3V. On the BIOS leg 8 is giving only 1.0V . PS_ON voltage is OK, but ME_AC_PRESENT is 0.2V

This is before I desoldered Q49, now it is empty. First I tried with adapter and adapter plug led was on for 5sec than off( i think it should stay on all the time). After that I have pushed power key and power led was on and there was only 5v and 3.3v, nothing else. I thought that this was the only fault and I put it on bench power supply to see if I short source and drain maybe I have repaired it, but it something was still shorting, and without pushing power key the only component that was starting to become hot was Atom N270 (it is soldered on the b...Leave a comment:

Hello,
Motherboard is FOXCONN QBOOK-3G-MB with i945 chipset and Atom N270. I found one shorted mosfet in vrm, after desoldering I put on bench supply and I get dc led on for 5sec than off, if I press power on only 5v and 3.3v are present. Then I thought I should short Source and drain and see if I will get other voltages or something is getting hot. I put on bench supply and current is getting high like shorting, and the only thing that is getting hot is soldered Atom N270, any suggestions? -

Recapping is good, so problem is not with big electrolytes, I replaced all of them. Problem is that all PCI slots and onboard LAN is not working, same as before. Problem is on some other part, maybe LAN died and is shorting some signal to PCI slots, or some mosfet. My question is what else to check when I have 3.3V on PCI slots, but some signal is missing? MSI 865 Neo2 -V was fully reccaped because it was full of plagued capacitors. Before recapping it was unstable or sometimes with no POST, after recapp done now it is rock stable. USB, AGP, onboard audio, SATA, IDE works without problem. Onboard LAN is grayed out in BIOS(you can't enable/disable) and none of PCI slots is working. Can someone point me what can be the problem because I alredy tried different BIOS. I have... -

I'm running them on office pc with core 2 duo and onboard graphic that work on noname 300w psu without any problem.So is there any way to bypass this active pfc or add some resistor somewhere or maybe even short the coil or put a coil with higher inductance??
Maybe main capacitor is too low or too high in capacity foor that coil??
Question is more technical, because again I think it's design problem not usage problem or defective part.Leave a comment:

It's not a fan problem, I think it is design problem by manufacturer, every second or third is failing same way. Even if you open it after 15minutes when it is still new and try to put finger on that PFC coil you'll see that it is very very hot..Last edited by aanev; 04-05-2013, 05:10 PM.Leave a comment:

Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus 550W design problem
I have many of this power supply with Active PFC, and first they start to smell and after that they stop working. I open it and smell comes from the positive high voltage just after the 220V rectify. They have Active PFC coil that is always very hot and start to burning, and after some time if coil burns there is one big mosfet that is failing short. So in my opinion there is some problem with the design,can someone tell me a way how to bypass this Active PFC part like in noname PSU, or what else can burn this coil, maybe main Capactitor that is measured good? -
