  • Re: APC UPS units - troubleshooting

Hello, I have 2x SRT10KXLI units, one of which shows Critical alert : Bypass Voltage not in range ; Low Voltage.

I have also attached a photo of the connections in the back of the unit (3phase) also showing the bypass jumper bar installed in place.

I have measured in both ends of the bypass jumper bar and there is normally 218V in both ends ( on top of screw ).

UPS firmware was updated through USB ( device ID went from 1002 to 1014, FW from 02.1 to 04.7).

NMC firmware is 6.0.7 version (AP9537SUM...

  • Re: [Philips TV] 47PFL5604H backlight/inverter

    UPDATE:

I changed all THT caps and backlight caps except the large 450V/150uF and i somehow managed to get it working (tv signal, hdmi input etc).

After that it seems like it tries to power up (led blinking white) but then it powers off again.

Continuing the search, because the owner already bought a replacement TV, so i have plenty of time to troubleshoot (he wants it as a spare)...

I unsoldered with my hot air station all 4 diodes that gave a 0.031/0.062V measurement both ways.

All are in the range of 0.550-0.570V (DMM diode mode) and only one direction, whch means that they are ok.

Hello budm! Thank you for your reply !

My power supply is the same as the OP, DPS-298CP-2A. The photos are attached.

I will measure the diodes off-board and come back with results.

    Thank you again!...

  • Re: [Philips TV] 47PFL5604H backlight/inverter

I took some measurements with the PSU connected on AC.

    On CN4 Connector i get no 3.3VSB.

    IC901 (3BS3LJ)
Pin 7 (VCC) cycles between 11 and 17volts
Pin 4 (HV) is stable at 270 Volts

    IC4 (DDA005)
Pin 2 (IN) starts from 21.6 Volts and falling with steady step (measured up to 20 Volts)
    Pin 4 (OUT) is 0

On R916 close to IC901 i also get 11-17 Volts cycling.

    Without AC connected :

On D908 close to IC901 i measure 0.062V in DMM diode...

  • Re: [Philips TV] 47PFL5604H backlight/inverter

    Hello,

I have same TV but it doesn't power on, not even standby led.

I have measured the SB260 Diodes (D907 & D911) but they are ok (0.210V on DMM diode test, out of circuit).

The only thing i managed to find is the Optoisolator PC902, which input is connected to "FAULT" pin 17 of IC702 (DDA003A) and input pins 1&2 of DDA005.

PC902 is NEC-PS2561B-1-A, and i do not get any sign from pins 1&2 (internal led Anode and Cathode) when measuring with DMM in diode mode....

  • Rebranded Raidmax RX-735AP Powers Up even without plugged in mobo

    Hello all,

The above PSU fell into my hands after the owner replaced it with a new one (better brand).

The fan had failed and the PSU did not power on before i got it.
The fan rotor had a large crack and the axis was stuck in the bearing.

However when i got it the leds of the fan were lit while plugged. The leds were powered from a separate 5v supply on the PCB.

I recapped all the output caps using KZH series.

Got a new fan and the psu was ready to test.

I plugged it in a test system i have and everything...

  • Re: Motherboard schematics archive?

Hello, very valuable thread, thank you all !

    Does anyone have schematic for Asus A8N-SLI Premium 1.02 (P/N : 60-M9L0PF-C14) ?

    Thank you in advance

Hello, i am in the process of re-capping and further troubleshooting a A8N-SLI premium.

Are there any schematics available ? I am diagnosing a short-circuit in a pair of capacitors near the NF4 chip

I would like to use the same schematics for my board, but i realized that it is A03 (PT10g - 6050a2171501 - rev a03).

    Does anyone have it ?

    Thank you in advance

  • Re: Crystal Audio Micro-HD DVB-T MPEG-4 Tuner

In my case, i got almost all capacitors for 2.50 Euro, so i changed them all.

I only got the attached photo, where i tested the temperature of the main chip (ambient ~35°C)

Most of the caps had very high ESR values and 2-3 capacitors had low Capacitance....

  • Re: Crystal Audio Micro-HD DVB-T MPEG-4 Tuner

I tried to measure capacity with my DMM, the ones with the circles on the bottom cover give from 0.42nF to 17.3nF...the smaller one measures exactly 100.3μF just like it should, so i suppose you were right about them...

I'll start from replacing these first...

I have to wait till Monday...everyone still on vacation here...

  • Re: Crystal Audio Micro-HD DVB-T MPEG-4 Tuner

So, it is just glue ? It didn't seem like cap fluid, but i had to ask...

As for the caps, you mean the big ones in the 2nd photo ? Their logo is "SW" in an ellipse, while the ones that are black&gold are of a brand named "Decon".

I measured their Impedance ( not having any expensive equipment though ) and were measured inside limits.

Local electronics store has not opened yet after summer vacation, so i'll have to wait a couple of days before i can get new caps.

  • Crystal Audio Micro-HD DVB-T MPEG-4 Tuner

    Hello,

Since this category also states Video Sources, i thought this is the correct place to post. If not, please inform me to remove.

    A little intro :

Since the transition from Analog to DVB-T signal in Greece happened somewhat late (2-3 years ago) , lots of people i know asked me what set-top box to get to receive the new DVB-T channels.

Crystal Audio is a Greek Company that designs and manufactures electronics from Home Cinema Speakers to DVB-T Tuners and from Media Players to Wireless A/V transmitters.

    So , i chose...

  • Re: SMD Fuse and Diode replacements.

The motherboard with the burnt PNP was repaired in a few minutes and after that, the CPU Fan works like a charm.

The HDD board whose sensor is shown in the first photo, might be repaired with a replaecment PCB some time. It is not critical now...

Thank you again for your answers!

  • Re: SMD Fuse and Diode replacements.

The price i wrote in previous post is without shipping.

I stated that price in order to be easy to compare.

@selldoor, salvage from old boards is a very good idea....i'll try to find from someone that has boards for scrap

mouser/farnell/digikey are pricey as far as shipping to Greece is concerned

Next week i might have the opportunity to look at some shops @ the center of Athens, who knows...they might have...

Thank you both for your answers. Sorry for my late reply, i hadn't set my forum email account for active notification.

So , my guess was totally off !!! A clock crystal!! Thank you!!!

Yes, as far as i know it is a SOT23, but i will measure it to be sure.

The item you said, is also a PNP SOT23 transistor, only difference is that it is pre-biased ? Am i correct ?

Also seems that the marking on the DDTA123JCA would correctly be P06 but the date code on the burnt one...

  • SMD Fuse and Diode replacements.

    Hello!!!

I have 2 parts for identification (marked with red dots in the photos), if you may help.

The first is from an old HDD PCB, and it is probably a fuse (?), blown ( checked with my dmm) and as far as i know ( by the circled "M" symbol) by Murata.I may be wrong (i could not find any Murata fuses, only capacitors) but anyone who knows can share the info.

The second part is probably a PNP FET transistor, marked P06 with a vertical 14, it is also blown as you can see in the second photo. I tried to trace down...
