Im guessing I need to remove the chip and write it when not in circuit?...

I need help repairing/rebuilding the BIOS for an HP ProBook 630 G8 with no display.

I have read the BIOS chip twice using a CH341A and a WSON8 probe. Both reads match exactly, so I believe the dump is reliable.

The new reader has picked up the BIOS chip, I have Read the IC using NeoProgrammer twice. And it reads, and saves twice. So I have a backup of the BIOS.

But I think I need a proper BIOS image and not just the .bin file from HP Drivers?

Thanks for all the advice guys - I managed to find a clip on Amazon made for those style of chips. I will give it a go, and if nothing works I will invest in a soldering/desoldering station

Hi there, Im new here! And I need some help with something.

I have a HP Probook 630 G8 - and I suspect the BIOS is corrupt. Basically I plug it in or connect battery and it just starts up. Well there is no fan spin, nothing on screen, and the Power button lights up white, and then keys F5 and F8 just have an Amber light.

Literally nothing else happens. I have tried disconnecting Battery, CMOS battery. Still nothing.

So I am thinking it's a corrupt bios - so I bought one of those cheap BIOS Chip USB reader things off Amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/...
