I'm glad to hear the fabricated bin works!
I'm not sure why you had to wait 1 hour. It is possible the bin I started from already had the 1 hour lockout enabled. For the development of the Becker Logo Editor I gathered bins from various sources (for the logos). My own devices, some broken ones I scored cheap and from online forums. Unfortunately I didn't document which one came from where, so it is possible that the bin I started from was an Internet sourced bin from someone requesting a lost security code. In that case the EEPROM may have been in the locked state...

Decided to sign up for an account...
Judging by the pictures in #52, the main PCB is from a BE7921. Since it identifies itself as a BE7969, the 24C64 EEPROM must have been reprogrammed or replaced at some time.
This does not affect normal operation, but I wonder what would happen when a navigation CD is inserted that will update the firmware. The BE7920 (yellow), BE7921 (yellow 60°), BE7922 (red), BE7923 (green) and BE7925 (blue/red) all use the same firmware, but the BE7969 (BMW orange) has a different firmware. My guess is that the model number (or another identifier)...Leave a comment:
