  • Re: PHILIPS 50PFP5332D/37 Red & Green pixelation

Gilly 1984- The bad caps were 25v 680uf, i replaced them with 35v 680uf. I tried the factory reset & it didnt make any difference.

Tom66- I adjusted the vs from 189 up to the specified 205 & some black around the edge of the screen disappeared. After i changed the first two caps the vs voltage dropped, so i tried adjusting it again but couldnt get it to go above 200 with the pot turned all the way up. The va was ok, i didn't check the others. i am changing the other bad cap i discovered & will reinstall...

  • PHILIPS 50PFP5332D/37 Red & Green pixelation

I'm having a problem with the color on this tv. There is an abundance of red & green pixels. It also has a vertical line on the right side of the screen It powers on with video & sound.I noticed 3 LED's on the logic board. Two of them were on (2000 & 2003), the third one (2002), flashes at all times the power is on. I found & replaced 2 bad caps (C8046 &C8051) on the power supply, pcb# LJ44-00144A. I just discovered a cap that looks questionable (C8080), & am going to replace it. I also found several diodes that appear to be bad, they have backward capacitance. They are...

Vizio VP422 HAS SOUND BUT NO PICTURE. Power supply checks out good. Fuses on Y &Z sustain boards are good. I've unplugged both of these boards individually & I still have sound & no picture. I'm new to this so any help would be appreciated.

  • Re: Vizio vp422- will not power on

Update: I now hav sound, but no picture. I cannot change channels with the remote or by pushing buttons on tv. The only things that work are the volume & the input, but I lose the sound when I push input. I can switch to one additional channel by pushing last on the remote.

  • Vizio vp422- will not power on

I have a Vizio vp 422 that will not power on. I did find a thread for this same tv, but there was no final solution. I'm a newbie so I'm open to all suggestions. All caps appear to be good. I've checked voltages on all coonectors from power supply. The PS-ON voltages are 4.07 in standby, and .48 with power on. Fuses all check out, including f-1,2,3,4. The PN for the main board is 0171-2272-2587. I'm wondering if the small board sandwiched between the main board & the back of screen could be the issue? I think it's called the control board. Please forvive my ignorance.

I have the same tv with the exact same problem, it will not power on. I've done all of the same diagnostic tests with the same results. The only exception is that the PS-ON pin on the power supply reads 4.07 in stand by, and .48 with power on. All of the caps look good, fuses ok, power supply voltage readings all seem to be good. I'm new to this, so I'm open to all suggestions. The main board is PN-0171-2272-2587
