  • I tried to add solder, I scratched a bit the plastic around damaged pad to search for a trace that would had been cut.

I also downloaded the elitebook 800 but layout does not match. I am kinda stuck now.

Is it really possible that the pad 2 DO (IO1) is not connected to anything?

Maybe it is supposed to go trought the pcb on the other side? I dont see anything

Also I dont know if related but when I plug charger, the nuvoton chip near the ec heats to 30 degrees...

  • The test seems ok:

    APP Version : 13.16 Model : T48 MFG:2025-12-19
    Device : W25Q256JV @WSON8
    Pins Detected Passed!
    ID: 0x EF 40 19 ......OK!
Verifying FLASH ...Succeeded. Time : 21562ms
    Verifying STATUS/CFG ...Succeeded. Time : 0ms

I would need a boardview or a photo of the bios region, because there are many spots for components that could have been removed.

I also wonder If it would help to reput everything. Because for now I did not put back ssd and the motheboard is not properly installed I wonder if there cold be some kinds...

  • Yep I did not flash anything. I just desoldered main bios because I did not have a wson probe back then and resolder. I will test with programmer and check if its missing something in the bios area in case test is ok.

  • Thanks a lot of the ressource Sparo and Shiyab

For now I did not reflash the ec. I just resolded the main chip. The ec chip I could read it without unsolder with a probe. I took the précaution not to do everything at the same time specially to isolate issues.

Since I resolded main bios, my pc dont post. When I plug 230v without battery the caps lock light is on on and each ten seconds the power button blink two times.

Is it possible I solded it badly? I tested every pin is not bridged with multimeter, ground is linked to ground, vcc has 3.3v.

  • Hello I finally managed to extract everything. The ec and bios should be in the zip (u367 and u368), I tried to run rc unlocker on it but it did not accept it (I double extracted and check hash for both)
Would you send me patched versions and tell me wich IC do I need to flash yours in?

    The board is corvette-6050A3213301-MB-A01(A1)...

  • I tried desoldering whit a hot air gun at 400 dégrées celcius but could not even with lot of 559 mechanical flux for like 2 minutes. I also tried putting sold to heat under the chip. Also failed. Do you have any tips? Its a wson 8 model. I think I will try with the wire technique but I am a bit surprised because on internet videos it looked easy and takes around 40 seconds.

After extracting the bios file I just need to run rc unlock on it?

  • Its a second hand pc from my my dad previous work. He wants dual boot but dont know the bios password. I cant boot on USB drive. When I install debian on internal disk. Bios is ok to boot it. When I install windows, it does not work(it says something like the os did not authentify or something alike). So I want to reset bios password to be able to remove what's preventing me to run windows on the machine.

  • Hello badcaps. First post for me here.

    I have a hap zbook firefly 14 g8

    Prodid 275w4AV

    sn 5CG2118WW4

Before doing anything I just would like someone to confirm me what I need to do:

    I buyed a T48 programmer.

I need to read the ec chip (how do I recognize ec chip on board ? Can you confirm its always at the same place on zbooks?)

Then I run a rcunlocker on it. Wich will give me a new bios that I will write on the ec chip.

Then I start computer, enter bios and reset factory default? Is that...
