Re: Please help identify
Absolutily brilliant and a huge thanks to you all
Did the test and its working -----but I found a short in the start cable where someone had pinched it so with any pressure it would switch off laptop suddenly.
I thought it was the (Diode Transient) because there was no reading but now I know how to test such things
I cannot thank you guys enough and defo know where to seek EXPERTS help in future
Thanks again
Tony

Re: Please help identify
First thank you very much for your replies
Removed it from board tested it on esr and reading is "open circut or low capacitance" .
Its place on the board is marked "DT1"
I have googled it no end and cannot find exact replacement but I am not knowledgeable enough to know what would suffice instead
Again thank you very much for the help
