Apple macbook air A2337 camera refuses to work,
Hey, I have a macbook air M1 A2337 i replaced the display on using an AM display from MobileSentrix for a customer they returned because the camera wasn't working i tried another display from mobile sentrix still no camera, updated the software still nothing, i just took a display off our store macbook and no display still calibrated it using self repair and still no camera, so I have come to the conclusion its a board issue, any else ever encounter this, or any ideas on where to look on the board for shorts or anything. -
dude it fricking booted, its on "your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We'll restart for you" but it hasnt yet but it actually made progress -
Okay well i got it to start reading the chip again i had to restart my pc idk i think the issue is the clip keeps moving slightly while programming -
Yeah ive tried a couple times now its just hanging at the start when trying to write and i cant use the read Id button to automatically select the right chip but i can still manually type it in and hit read which gives me an an output of all FFs.. am i fucked? -
Well AsProgrammer says it "unprotects - ereases- writes - verifys" when i hit program as you said i decided to step through those steps myself and did successfully erease it i verfied that it was by reading it and it was all empty so i hit wrote its been hanging at 0 progress on the bar for 5 minutes now... -
Yeah thansk for the tip, but ive worked on computers and phone before replacing screens batterys and some other stuff ive just never had to do anything like this before.
whenever i verify i get "Verifying memory...
Verification error on address: 00000080" is there something im doing wrong? i reprogrammed it but got the same thing -
Alrighty im about to try it then i will have to reassemble the laptop ( i took it all apart to do this which was apparently not neccassry), even if there is something else going on with the laptop i appreciate all your help -

thank you but yeah thats seems more reasonable i was just blinded by anger as i watched it brick itself while i was just tryna restart it to finish installing some software, and it forced me to do "update and restart" and then it was all down hill from there, was trying to work on a project for class with my group and as soon as the fans ramped up to max we all knew somehting was off as we are all majoring in like CS CPE or EE, which is why im so dissapointed in myself for messing up and reading the wrong chip -

Yeah was definitely the thunderbolt firmware..... im reading the right chip i honestly was just looking for a winbond rom chip and thats the one i saw didnt realize it might not be the right one till after i put what was going on into words and quickly realized im just the dumbest person in world for a second -

yeah you are right i realized it immediately after i posted that, and yeah i was reading form the wrong chip... oops i didnt try to flash it but it was updating said restarting, went black fans spun way up in curve after waitinf 1/2 an hour tried to restart it still no image tried removing the 1 stick of sodimm ram (rest is soldered) tried removing ssds, and all of the holding power buttons and stuff. Black screen fans dont spin up, keyboard BL turns on ect.. -
Okay i might be an idiot and was reading data from the wrong chip... ive never had to do something like this before -
i have a FX516PE im trying to flash it but every bin file i try says "file size larger than IC size" and looking at it its true, size of the bins all reads as about 16MB while the one i backed up is about 1MB and the size whenever i read IC id and select it reads as 1048576
I saw people say to scan that qr code on the board so you can change the SN and stuff in the bios file before you program it.
