Re: Samsung plasma PS-50P96, BN44-00175A PSU
I have just been over the caps with an ESR meter, I found CX813, CX807, CS807, CQ810, CQ812 (all 47uf 50v) & CQ822 (4.7uf 50v)
All reading low or compare, replaced with new ones.. fault still the same.
I have tested every other cap and the only other one I replaced that was visibly blown was C8814.
Thank you to the guys at HEGE supporting Badcaps [ HEGE ] [ HEGE DEX Chart ]

Samsung plasma PS-50P96, BN44-00175A PSU
Hi all,
I have a TV with a fault of not starting up every time,
It is definitely a power supply board issue, I have found that all voltages work apart from the VS volts 200v rail.
So the set shuts down and tries again.
Even on the test bench with the PS-ON linked, its the same on the bench.
I cannot find the fault, and sometimes it does work and the set runs perfectly.
Thanks
Mark.

Re: Un55f9000 un65f9000
We have a UE55HU8500TXXU in the workshop,
Which comes on fine without the box plugged in, asking to plug in the box,
When the box is connected, the screen does nothing, just shows the white light at the bottm to say its on or off,
The box has the fan running inside, and the relay on the power supply in the screen is just clicking every 10-15 seconds.
I would have diagnosed it as the box, because the screen comes on without it..
but how would i tell if its mainboard in the set?
Thanks
Mark.

Re: issues with 17pw26-3 tv boards
next step.. if i unplug the inverter connector the set comes on and stays on, with sound etc so seems to be the 24v output to the inverter is tripping the power supply off again.

Re: issues with 17pw26-3 tv boards
On one at the moment, original fault was blown fuse and shorted Q803.
after this was replaced it was getting red hot, not coming out of standby..
Tried the control IC802, still nothing until the Q803 failed again.
Then discovered mains smoothing cap C819 was totally open circuit.
Replaced the cap, transistor and fuse all again and now the set sits in standby ok, no overheating.. but when you turn it on it tries to come on then shuts back to standby again. to be continued....

Re: Samsung le40r88bd Clicking, All caps tested ok
If anyone comes across this problem in the future, if you replace the eeprom with a blank one, It sees the blank Chip and loads the ROM data back to it..
This wont happen with a corrupt I.C.
If you do it this way it saves the hassle of trying to set loads of data up in the service manual.
We fix these all the time, and the corrupt eeprom usually follows the bad caps fault.

Re: Finding replacement bits for a Panasonic Plasma SC board
I have one of these boards in, and your parts list is a great help as we can order direct from Panasonic, glad someone out there can get onto the manuals..
We have the board with Q402, Q421, Q422, Q661 & D865 all shorted, disconnecting them has removed all shorts from the board, so hopefully replacing them will cure the problem.
(I think the parts list precedes the parts with 16, eg Q16402... ?)
The SC board from Panasonic is £197.28 trade price

Re: Sharp LC-40LE810UN question
After a bit more work i found out you have to press menu to get the extra error flashes, 2 slow then 5 fast if i recall correctly,
Anyway Today i have repaired this fault.. and it was not too difficult at all.
The error code for Panel Power.. is precicely right..
In my case the 12v supply was low, only 7 volts.
Replaced Q7909, a switchable 12v regulator (13v in, 7v out.. definitely faulty)
Part number KIA378R12PI
and now the set has a proper 12v rail again and fired up no problem.....

Re: Sharp LC-40LE810UN question
Read this thread with interest, as im working on a similar tv, LC-40LE811E..
We have a working power up but no backlight voltage, maybe similar to what you have experienced..
What you havent been able to grasp is that the 13v etc disappearing is a normal function when the set doesnt power on..
Those voltages are NOT meant to be running permanently.
only the 5v standby will always be on, the others are switched off until required.
Anyway the UK set doesnt appear to get an error code system like your versions.....
