Re: Panasonic TX-P42S21BA - 7 red flashes
Quick update on this TV.
After a couple of weeks of having to power cycle the TV a few times, the problem went away.
I've been using daily ever since and the problem hasn't returned... yet

Re: Panasonic TX-P42S21BA - 7 red flashes
Thanks for the reply.
Came to the TV tonight and it worked on the second power cycle.... now is still working.
The picture is absolutely perfect so far although I've only tested it with a raspberry pi as that's all I had near me.

Re: Panasonic TX-P42S21BA - 7 red flashes
Have you tried looking for the components individually?
You might be better off making your own "kit" up. It might cost you slightly more if you have to buy a 10 pack of some parts but at least you'll have them on stock :-)...

Replacing the board?? That's cheating
I'll be attempting a repair on mine instead...

Re: Panasonic TX-P42S21BA - 7 red flashes
Quick update -
After power cycling the TV a few times, it's now working perfectly....
I've tried leaving it a while and then turning it back on thinking that the fault would re-appear and it hasn't yet.
I'm going to leave it alone over night and try it again in the morning. I suspect it will fail again.
Usually, I'd suspect a bad capacitor or two to cause this kind of fault but I read Tom66's statement in another thread about Panasonics not having cap problems.
I'll see what happens...

Re: Panasonic TX-P42S21BA - 7 red flashes
Hi Tucocaps
I'm still playing with the TV and have found that sometimes, it does display a distorted image which quickly fades before the red flashing starts.
I'm starting to suspect that it's a fault with one of the MOSFETS on the SC board...... but I could and probably will be wrong :/

Panasonic TX-P42S21BA - 7 red flashes
Hi guys
I've recently acquired the TV mentioned in the title.
When turned on, it flashes the green light quickly and then flashes the red light 7 times.
I've looked at several other threads about Panasonic TVs and was going to try one of Tom66's solutions but because the boards have different SD,SU,SS names, I thought I'd post on here first to see if anyone can help.
From what I can gather, the 2 boards on the left (sometimes call SU and SD on certain models) are called SM and SC on this TV.
I'm happy to isolate the boards but could do with knowing...

Re: Acoustic Solutions LCDW22HDF - Vestel 17IPS02-2 Blowing Fuses
Hi guys.
I forgot to update this thread
In the end, I found 2 or 3 of the diodes to be faulty. D800-D803
I replaced these and the TV worked perfectly.... in fact, it still works perfectly now over a year later.
I did send Tom66 a PM thanking him for his help but I'll do it again in here.
Thanks for your help Tom

Re: Acoustic Solutions LCDW22HDF - Vestel 17IPS02-2 Blowing Fuses
Hi Tom
Thanks for the reply.
I've found 2 of the diodes to be short so I've ordered a pack and will replace the lot.
I've also ordered a STR-W623 just in case. I haven't had it out to test it yet but I thought I might as well order one now and then I've got it anyway.
Just the resistor to test now but I'm pretty sure I can find one on a scrap board if it needs it.
I'll update further once the parts arrive in a few days
Cheers

Acoustic Solutions LCDW22HDF - Vestel 17IPS02-2 Blowing Fuses
Hi guys
I wondered if any of you have had any experience with a Vestel 17IPS02-2 PSU??
It keeps blowing fuses and I'd really appreciate any suggestions on how to track the fault down.
I haven't attached any images because google shows plenty of this model and even has a schematic.
I'd appreciate any suggestions on where to start and what to test.
I'd also love to know more about the "light bulb trick"
Am I correct in assuming that instead of fitting fuses to keep blowing, I can attach a light bulb to the fuse holder...

Re: Technika LCD 15ID-107 black screen - going black
hmmm
sounds like a plan.
I often have other broken LCD monitors at work, I could try pinching one from there.
If it's the inverter though, am I likely to be able to pinch one from anything else or would it have to be matched by part number exactly?
Thanks

Technika LCD 15ID-107 black screen - going black
Hi guys
I wondered if any of you clever people could help me out with this one....
I have a Technika 15ID-107 LCD TV which keeps going black after a few seconds.
When turned on, I see static, then a blue screen (because of no signal) then it just goes black.
The power light on the front stays on.
From reading other threads, I'm sure someone can advise me.
I have changed most (if not all) of the caps on the PSU board but it's made no difference.
I have attached a pic of the board.
Thanks in advance...
