Re: AOC SW919-1 No power
No actually I haven't done either, I'm a novice with monitors. Would you be willing to explain either? I'd love to learn more.
Also, I tested both Caps and neither returned a reading on my meter....

Re: AOC SW919-1 No power
I tested both capacitors with the power running to the board. I received 0.00 as the reading on both, with the meter set to 20v DCV....

Re: AOC SW919-1 No power
yeah my soldering job isn't the greatest. I replaced the cap mentioned in the first few posts....

Re: AOC SW919-1 No power
I actually bent them down like that to avoid any possible contact. I didn't have my good snippers handy and couldn't get any closer.
As for the DCV, I have this multi-meter (attached). Forgive my ignorance, should the monitor be plugged in when I test and also which setting should I have the meter on?...

Re: AOC SW919-1 No power
This is the back of the board. Just to the right of my finger is the back of the capacitor I replaced, mentioned in my original post (notice my poor snip of the wires). The capacitor replacement did not fix the issue by the way. The monitor does not turn on.
Again, thanks to everyone who's replied so far!...

AOC SW919-1 No power
AOC monitor will not power on. I think (based on the brown scorch mark) that maybe this capacitor C912 blew. Does anyone know if replacing it may fix my issue? I am very new to this, and so before I venture down that road and order a capacitor I'd like to have an idea of if this will work. My fear is that once it blew other parts may have been damaged.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!...

Re: Hanspree HSG1075
I know it's been years, BUT i finally got around to fixing this TV using the help on this thread and the instructions worked like a charm. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Re: Hanspree HSG1075
hey guys, after a long holiday and getting back to work, I finally have what I need to perform this job. I thought before I apply the solder that maybe I should post what my interpretation of your instructions has produced. In this photo, I have laid out the customized, cut, yellow insulated wire onto the circuit board in the position I believe it needs to be, connecting pins 1-3 & 5-8. If this looks good I will solder it into place and test the TV!...

4435BZ thanks selldoor, my eyes arent the greatest lol
tom, your suggestion about bypassing the FET, source to drain, sounds great, I am willing to attempt this but I may need a little more clarification on how to do that. you guys have been amazingly helpful, I'm very impressed by this forum.

Re: Hanspree HSG1075
the fourth pin that you described on Q2 gives me a reading of .02 on the meter.
This was taken with my meter on 20V DCV

one side of C642 is 12.01-12.15, the other side is 0.00

Re: Hanspree HSG1075
4R7 = .25 on the connector side. I had the power ON and the meter set to 20V DCV

I have been since I realized that, sorry about the confusion earlier

Re: Hanspree HSG1075
each fuse you mentioned gave me roughly .3 on the meter when I set it on 200 ohm and put positive on one side of the fuse, negative on the other side.

Re: Hanspree HSG1075
Here is the shot of the main board/connector
-the test with 200 instead of 200k gave me basically the same result - 0.00, keep in mind that I can't put the board back in its mounts or I wouldn't be able to reach the areas for the test. it sits in upside down. Hopefully I've isolated it for the tests properly.
Does a test of 0.00 instead of 3ohm mean that I am not testing it correctly?...

Re: Hanspree HSG1075
oops, I didnt see the plain 200 there, you guys probably think im a lost cause here lol so basically are we trying to determine at what point power is lost before the tcon board?

Re: Hanspree HSG1075
I did my best to isolate the board from the chassis, with the exception of one screw "grounding the board." In this picture, I am performing the ohm test the way I understood it to be and I was getting 0.00 on my meter....

Re: Hanspree HSG1075
thank you for the description on 4R7, I found it right away after that! ok here are the test results, I see .2- on each side of 4R7, it bounces around slightly, .25, .23, depending on my unsteady hand I'm assuming. As for the ohm test on the chassis, that number is much higher, bouncing around 70+ to 124+, very unsteady. I had the meter set at 200k OHM for the chassis test and 20V DCV for the 4R7 test.
