Problem with pfc in lg 42lm620S
Hello,
I have a problem with the power supply of LG 42LM620S, the power board is EAX64427101. The problem is the pfc circuit, when I connect it the board has a short circuit, but If I remove L601 the board works fine without leds light. Also, if i disconnect the F101 the board is in short circuit but the pfc circuit works fine, 380V. i changed the fan7930, the mosfets q101, q102, q602 and q601. Also i changed IC101 ( L6599). To eliminate circuits I removed d254, d260, d253,d261, d251 and q251.
I have not idea what more check.....

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
No really, but when I replaced by other P-CH the problem with the voltages didn't appear. But the power supply never turn off. This problems are more difficult without service manual to check it. thank you for your help also....

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
I found it with lucky, when I was checking the main board I forgot to connect this board and them all voltages were ok. I don't know the features of the capacitor, but I used a bypass capacitor of other board....

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
Finally, I found the problem. It was a capacitor in short circuit in the remote board. I don't know why disconecting the PS_ON the tv works fine.
I attach the image of the board and bad capacitor, for help other people.
Thank you budm for your help and for being patient....Last edited by raydem; 10-19-2019, 04:46 AM.

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
Yes, it is a P-CH. I replace it, and now when turn off the TV in the drenator appear 3.3V. When turn off 2.7V. Now, the A5V not toggle, but is normal because PS_ON always is active to >2V.

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
Ok, but when turn on the Tv the micro set to 0V the gate of the mosfet, when turn off the micro change to 3,3v. I readed on internet that samsung tv turn on with 0V in Ps_ON. It is why i am confused....

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
I will try to find a P-CH to replace. It is XF1V not XFV1.
But, if I connect R211 to GND ( without Q202) the power board has to turn On, rigth? Because if I do it, doesn't turn ON....

No.
I tried to activate the gate to measure between the source and drenator but it doesn't work....

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
A transistor has two measures, Q202 only has one between pin 2 (black probe) and pin 3 (red probe). Assuming it is a transistor, the measurement is between collector and emitter. The marking on the component is XF1V, I searched the smd book brand without luck.Last edited by raydem; 10-17-2019, 10:57 AM.

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
I attach the image of the one measure that give the component. Other combinations do not value. The value is 0.320 in diode. I measured it out of the PCB....

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
R211 is connected to the collector and in the other side it go to the power board. Maybe I named bad this signal, but in the text of the main board said PS_ON.
R206 is a pull up with the emitter to 3.3V and other side connected with R222.
R222 is connected to base and R206, to the other side is connected with the micro.
R212 is connected with R211 and collector, other side GND.
Pinout of the transistor like you said in the image....Last edited by raydem; 10-16-2019, 01:21 PM.

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
Hello Budm, I used a probe and yes it is connected to the chassis.
I removed R212 in the main board and I can measure the voltages in the transistor. I leave you the measures.
With the power off.
Base: 3.3V
Collector: 3.3V
Emitter: 3.3V
With the power on
Base: 0.6V
Collector: 3.3V
Emitter : 3.3V
I followed the wire PS_ON in the main board and in the end is the wt61p805. The micro controller works fine, if turn on the TV it toggle to 0V and...Last edited by raydem; 10-16-2019, 01:03 PM.

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
thank you, but I think that we don't undestand each other. The last images (with the osciloscope) that I attached are the DC voltages of the Q202 with all cables connected. If I toggle the power switch, the result doesn't change, are the same that the images.

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
I think the problem is in the power board. Because when I remove PS_ON wire and turn on the TV, the signal change to 3.3V. I am going to remove the PS_ON components in the power board. I will write when I do it.

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
I don't know the pinout of the mosfet or transistor. The middle pin of the component is connected to PS_ON trought a resistor.
Yes, I know that PS_ON signal has to be constant, that why it is strange for me. If I disconnect PS-ON, the signal is normal in the main board. When turn on the TV appear 3,3V and when I turn off it is 0V. In the power board the signal always is in 3V.
With the PS_ON wire connected the transistor is always toggle ON/OFF as the pictures that I attached. That is why...

Re: Samsung UE40ES6140 doesn't turn on
The resistance beween emitter and collector is about 4k ohms. I attached 4 images of differents measurements in the transistor (all measurements are with GND), the mark of the component is XFV1, I wasn't able to find the datasheet ( that why the images). The last image is in the measurement of the near component (I think is a ferrite) is marked in the board like BD207.
I can not check the voltage with the TV on, if I don't unplug the signal PS_on. But if I remove it, in the PS_on the voltage is 3.3V in main board...Last edited by raydem; 10-12-2019, 03:37 AM.
