Re: Lg50ln5400
Is the LED driver inside with the backlights or is it a part of the Power Supply?

Re: Lg50ln5400
Do I access from the back since it is already open or do I have to go through the front by taking out the screen?

Re: Lg50ln5400
LED part of the power supply? Backlight control also a part of power supply? If so I will just change out the power supply.

Lg50ln5400
Have this TV that does not have any picture but has great sound. Looked at many YouTube videos and finally opened up the TV. It has I believe, a main board, T-Con board and a power supply(which I believe to be also the LED driver as well as controlling the backlights EAX64905501) From what I have learned from the videos that I have viewed, it is the power supply. It has no back lights whatsoever but has real clear sound. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Re: LG 50LN5400 Screen Flash Standby Go's Out
What was the end result? Did you find out the problem? I have one of the same TV's which had sound but no picture. Does everything as advertised, other than the picture (screen is black). Any suggestions or help of any kind would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: 52LG50 Has Mind of its own
Replaced the Main Board and all was well for a couple days, and then it started on/off ect. Today it comes on and you can't shut it off. Turn it off and it comes back on. Could it be the power cord? It is a little wobbly when installed and it is the right angle plug and not the on that is straight in line with the cord.

Re: 52LG50 Has Mind of its own
I replaced the Main Board in the set and everything seemed to be fine. Was just like getting a new TV. However, this morning I went to turn it on, and when I hit the remote the TV clicked twice and came on and went off and then came on. What is the problem here? I replaced the the IR sensor(switch), main board, so what else could be causing this? I unplugged and did a factory reset by holding in the on/off switch for about a minute and the sensor light glowed. It is still unplugged and will be for a couple hours before I try it again. Any ideas???...

Re: 52LG50 Has Mind of its own
Attempted the service reset, and after the 5-10 seconds, the prompt on the screen for password came up. I entered the password and it went to a screen that I never seen before. Did not however find a reset. Is it on the remote?

Changed out the switch and it is still cycling on and off. Would it be the main board or the power supply next?

Re: 52LG50 Has Mind of its own
The Main Board? The P/N is EBU41909802. Nothing seemed to be out of place as far as I could tell. No hot spots, or broken connections that I could see. Have had 2 different repairmen out and they both said it was more than likely the main board because it probably got an electrical surge through the HD cable. Should I just go ahead and replace the main board and the on/off switch?

Re: 52LG50 Has Mind of its own
I took the switch and the main board out. Checked the connections, blew the dust out and put back together. Seemed to work fine until last evening, and it started on and off again. My wife seems to think that it is being interrupted by the signal from the house phone. Is that possible, and if so, wouldn't that be the switch because it has the sensor attached?

The on/off button board that has the IR sensor on it. (EBR42597903)

Re: 52LG50 Has Mind of its own
My wife said that while the TV was on, she unplugged it from the wall and took the switch completely out, plugged it back in and it still did the same thing, on,off,on,off, ect. So if that is the case, what next, the main board?

So you believe it to be that board?

Re: 52LG50 Has Mind of its own
Found the board for the on/off button. Unplugged both connectors and tried remote, which nothing happened. Shouldn't one be plugged in and other not and then try remote? One lead goes to the buttons on side of the TV while the other I believe goes to the main board.
