Samsung sent a tech out to replace the motherboard and capacitors for free. It worked for 2 weeks and now is doing the same thing as before! It's soooooooo frustrating. I am looking for people who are experiencing the same issue as me. I find plenty of people who had their power board and/or capacitors replaced with it working fine, but not like my TV; it went out again and does the exact same thing. Symptoms are blinking stand by light, black screen until it comes on then vertical lines (unable to see any pic), makes a loud high pitch noise at times. I took the back of the TV off and the capacitors...

Samsung LCD model LN40A550P3FXZA. They recalled all capacitors on power board and power board itself. This TV came out in 2008 and the recall has been on for about 3 or 4 years. You can get it fixed free through Samsung. They will set you up with a certified tech who will come to your home free of charge.

I am a new member and I came across this forum while trying to figure out what is wrong with my ever-lovin TV! I read some of the threads and they look helpful, however I haven't seen one yet with my issue so I signed up so I can post and I hope for some help because I am so ready to and toss it!
