Re: Sanyo DP42647, No Sound, No Picture, Can Switch ON/OFF by Keypad, Remote not avai
Hey Ken (k2skaterii),
Did you see my post above with detailed pictures showing the location of component L6172?
Please do me a favor and take a look at component L6172 (my blown component) on your replacement board and confirm that it is present and not fried like the one on my board. (Report your findings in this thread.) I've said I think I fried the component on my board when the test probe slipped, but who knows, maybe I didn't cause the failure. Maybe the component...

Re: Sanyo DP42647, No Sound, No Picture, Can Switch ON/OFF by Keypad, Remote not avai
Ken, was the main processor board your bought sold as new or used?
I'll share some pictures of the blown inductor on my mainboard. It was L6172 and is on the lower right corner on the front of the board, near the "tin box tuner" with the antenna connector.
If anyone reading this finds a source for the blown inductor, please add to the post with information on where to buy, and exactly how to specify the part. I have no experience sourcing these tiny components....

Ken, have you studied "2 seconds to black?"

I believe "2 seconds to black" is a "self protection" mechanism of the main processor board. If it detects an abnormal voltage...

Re: Sanyo DP42647, No Sound, No Picture, Can Switch ON/OFF by Keypad, Remote not avai
Ken, I purchase a used inverter board off of eBay and swapping it out did not improve things. I did a lot of probing all over my board checking voltages, and did not really find any problems, except one which I may have caused myself.
tom66 wrote to me, "Have you checked the DC input to the T-con board? If that is low, you may see that effect."
It has been a while since I've looked at the project. I did find one blown component on the main board. A very...

Hello Ken, k2skaterii Thanks for letting me know you are looking at this problem too. Your post is newer, so I'll say more at your post https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=31167Re: Sanyo DP42647, No Sound, No Pict...php?t=31167[/u

Re: Sanyo DP42647, No Sound, No Picture, Can Switch ON/OFF by Remote or Keypad, USA,
I haven't found the Audio Voltage yet, but I did manage to force the BACK LIGHT on. I attempted to apply a voltage to the BL_ON signal, but had no success with that.
I did get the back light tubes to turn on. I unplugged connector K6R and then turned on the set. The backlight comes on now, with K6R disconnected. I still have no audio, and only vertical lines on the screen. There seems to be ten "zones" across the screen from left to right. The pattern may change if the...

Re: Sanyo DP42647, No Sound, No Picture, Can Switch ON/OFF by Remote or Keypad, USA,
I've been distracted from this repair "Project" for a few months, but going to try to make some headway again. I found a video on YouTube posted by NorCal715 with title "Sanyo DP42840 DP46840 Wont Power On Main Board Repair Fix N7EK N7AL N7AM N7AS" This video may interest anyone with failed audio. My failure symptom is different, in that my TV's green power light remains on. Don't know if hyperlinks are allowed, by I'll attempt to post link to video.

Re: Sanyo DP42647, No Sound, No Picture, Can Switch ON/OFF by Remote or Keypad, USA,
Dear RetiredCaps, Thank you for your help and the time you have given to help me diagnose my TV.
See below the voltages I have measured when the TV is ON. "Part I" is the voltages associated with the "Power Failure Circuit" shown on page 5 of Service Manual. All voltages checked except "Audio Power," which I did not measure. Haven't figured out where to measure this. I guess I should come back to this since "NO AUDIO" was initial failure mode....

Sanyo DP42647, No Sound, No Picture, Can Switch ON/OFF by Remote or Keypad, USA, 110V
chassis no: P42647-00, USA, 110V/60HZ
I'm attempting to repair a Sanyo DP42647 LCD TV, chassis no: P42647-00, ser. no: B7280916771748, assembled JULY 2007 in Mexico. My daughter reports she was watching TV from 75 ohm source, when sound quit. She turned set off to attempt to fix problem. Set turned off, but no sound or picture when switched back on. Green "system on" light is working.
Current condition and functions: I have left set unplugged for 24 hours - no change. When first plugged in, there are no standby or power indicator lite. (I don't know what...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi All,
I'm Jim and I've enjoyed taking things apart since I was a young kid. Eventually I learned to put things back together. Later I learned to fix things.
I like to do simple things to my car, like change spark plugs, change oil. Have been known to bust knuckles on changing a water pump on a 1970's vintage GM car where all the "Accessories" hung on the bolts that you remove to replace water pump. What a joy to replace a water pump on a modern car, where nothing is hanging off the water...
