Re: Dell 3008wfp faulty power supply
Hi guys!
I've got a Dell 3007 (not 3008) wfp display here that I think is acting the same way a few of yours are.
If I plug it in, it turns on and starts running through a pattern displaying several colours and brightness levels. No buttons are responsive. I think the blue light turns on but it maybe is off after it gets turned on? I forget.
As soon as I plug a source cable into it, it seems to power off, screen is blank and buttons still don't respond.
This sound like the typical fuse issue?...

Re: Auria EQ276W - Looking for Replacement LED Driver
okay, I was worried about that. I've had mine for a long time and really love the monitor. I don't mind spending 20 or even 40 bucks to fix it, but beyond that it's probably not worthwile with nice monitors getting down to the $150 range now.

Can I trust the voltage readouts on my motherboard?
Trying to figure out a stability issue with my computer. HWmonitor offers a nice voltage readout, and I noticed my +12V can drop pretty significantly under load. Here's a screenshot after running a stress test (gpu and CPU):
Power supply is a "new model" TR2-600. 80+ bronze, should be more than enough. My kill-a-watt says the computer never draws more than 315 watts from the wall.
So is that +12V too low? Or can I even trust these numbers?...

Re: Power supply build quality pictorial. part 2
rest are in here:

A few pictures from 2 old dead power supplies.
One seems half decent aside from horribly melted/leaking caps, the other one is interesting as I've never seen so many components missing from something! Pretty much anywhere there should be stuff, there's a jumper instead.
I pulled the fan from the one with the bad caps as it had been replaced with a newer unit recently. Looks like the rest is scrap to me.
I...

Re: Can someone help me troubleshoot what's wrong inside my PSU?
Well, I doubt I'd buy another, but it seemed like.a good idea at the time. The fan I put in has to be better than the broken one that was in it. The psu seems well built from what little I know, just judging by its mass and the huge pile of components inside, as well as the two giant copper heat sinks. I will take some pictures when I get home. Compared to a diablotek $14.99 special that I thought I could replace I it with, it weighs at least double,
The PC it had been connected to hardly put a load on it,...

Can someone help me troubleshoot what's wrong inside my PSU?
I've done a bunch of googling and ended up here. I've got a non-working power supply that I'd like to fix - or at least diagnose what's gone wrong inside. I voided the warranty shortly after purchase to change the fan because the OEM fan failed very quickly, despite it being an expensive ($89.99) PSU at time.
It's a cooler master 600W "eXtreme power". It had great reviews when it was new - but they had a flaw with the fans, basically all the fans were crap. It's 4 years old.
Anyway, it's worked fine for the most part except for rarely not wanting to turn...

Re: Bad caps=junked car
Still have the car?
I have a stack of 4g63 ECU's, if you tell me what year and engine your car had chances are pretty good that I have an ECU that will work in it.
If you already scrapped it - Too bad, because it could be fixed cheaply.
There's other methods too that cost less money than a "new" dealership ECU but become much more involved - megasquirt EMS is one of them.

Re: Microsoft Surface tablet storage advertising
Computers have always had software taking up some of the available space, and then even less would be available because of formatting, etc. The surface is pretty bad with only half available in the 32gb model, but it's borderline ridiculous to sue when that's been standard computer business practice since the beginning of home computers.

not that anyone ever reads these, but hello! Came here to troubleshoot a dead monitor and power supply that I'd like to fix.
