Re: No Power Dell U2410 Monitor
I've forwarded monitor to a friend, a kind of very patient electronics (experienced) freak and it works on it for months now - stuck with some component marked S3.
Does anyone on the planet has schematic?!?

Re: No Power Dell U2410 Monitor
Right, VR's are direction where may be the solution.
Finally I've give up and now monitor is for allmost 2 months waiting for some VR to arrive (one local electronics freak was last who wanted dell on his desk).
No call from him yet (hm, maybe kids around his building are playing with components out of IFD - identified flying dell).
I dont think he has any schematics.

Re: Powerware 9120 Online UPS
No change at all - fuse keeps blowing.
Replaced also 2 condensers, checked diode near IRF (first from the left, traces of burning around it).
With power cable connected fan starts (as before) and I can browse thru options on LCD but when I press power - bang.
Tryed to start device just on batts but some smoke came out - didnt have time to spot from where and didnt want to do it again....Last edited by davor; 03-23-2013, 04:05 PM.

Re: Powerware 9120 Online UPS
Thanx. Its 22:00 and I've just replaced rest 3 IRF's (S/D=short) but spoted on 2 IRF's on the right, traces of some kind of burns/cuts of on source pins!!!
Now Ive left UPS to filll batts to full and will post results tomorrow.
1st IRF was burnt so hard that pin was in the air!!! Temp. was so high that components around have black marks!
Fuse (5A) is soldered to the board as, by design, it's not ready for easy replace.

Re: Powerware 9120 Online UPS
I have blown one IRF3710, near 2 caps mentioned before, and glass fuse on board (5A).
Replaced IRF and fuse but it blows fuse again. On LCD is "DC Bus Fault".
Any idea what next?

Re: No Power Dell U2410 Monitor
Works as new. Forget VR's - focus on badcaps.

Re: No Power Dell U2410 Monitor
Just a note: I can extend display from laptop to Dell with no problem, arrow disapears on Dell...hm, maybe I can use flashlight instead LCD backlight?
What if problem is hidden on 3rd board, high voltage for BL control?
Not happy with that!

Re: No Power Dell U2410 Monitor
Any prrogress anywhere?
After all checks I'm still in the dark.
Placed a call onto Dell service where guy said: yeah, we can easely repair all!
So maked a 60km trip and than another "Dell" changed picture: yeah, diagnosis is 40eur...
Replayed: OK, than when you find component(s) it must be few euros more and more or less is cost.
Dell: WTF component means!? I don't even know about soldering - we just replace boards!
Me: engine start, 60km back..........

Re: No Power Dell U2410 Monitor
C932 = 47uF/50V
If look at 14-pin connector where red wire is on right (pin 14) and voltmeter red wire is on it, than voltages are:
DISCONNECTED STATE
1-4 = -0,466V
5-10 = +4,66V
11 = -1,16V
12 = +4,60V
13 = +4,04V
CONNECTED STATE:
1-4 = -3,64V
5- 13 = +48 mV
I dont think there is much to repair on USB/Reader board...

Re: No Power Dell U2410 Monitor
Sorry for link...just first hit after shock.
Here is 3rd condenser on my board - also smaller than circle.
And I`ve found traces of hand soldering on resistor R856 (up-left from Q853).
C854 voltage = 325V....

Re: No Power Dell U2410 Monitor
Hi guys,
same situation at my desk.
Usually I leave monitor all time ON but yesterday I pushed power button (don`t know why I did it this time, grrrrrr). In meantime there was power down and could be UPS did his job for 5-10 minutes but dark was for longer period.
After I wanted to continue work there was no signs of life.
Now is dissasembled with multimeter & hot Weller by side and question sign over my head.
Same voltages.
