  • LG flatron w2253tq Help!

Hello guys I replaced 8 bad caps on this w2253tq about a year or two ago (owned it for 3 to 4 years) and it's worked like new since. Recently however some OSD options have disappeared, the screen flickers with waves, sometimes the colors are a bit weird-ed out and the monitor would turn itself on and off I figured a cap or two went bad.

Today I opened the LCD up I looked at the caps, they all looked fine! I decided to re-cap it anyway. I had some cheap chong caps laying around, while the dimensions are a little different everything's to spec. [B]3 - 16V 1000UF, 3 - 35V 470UF, 1 -...

  • realtime encryption software question

    I really don't care for windows encryption so;
Anyone know of a (good) free real-time encryption program for XP? Open source is fine.

EDIT: even a good "manual" encryption program would help!

    Thanks,
    Brandon

  • Re: Clients computer, is it the spawn of satan? Help please.

FIXED. Thanks for the replies, it was indeed a lack of juice. I have never had this problem. Get this... The hub I have has a Y cable, I had to connect it to both USB ports 500ma x 2, and it still wouldn't run... I then connected the adapter and it ran fine. So I figured I'd take the y cable off, and just use adapter it stoped working... This thing has to run with a y cable and both 500ma x 2 usb ports! WTF? Knowing my recent luck maybe something else is going to go poof...

    Anyway, Thanks a ton ...

In the USB properties it says the cameras Power REQ is indeed 500ma. I have a hub but I'm missing the adapter.. :/

all the latest drivers are installed.
    chipset is Intel 815E.

How can I tell if the USB can give this camera enough juice?

It's a VEO advance connect.. I haven't had any problems with it on other machines.

Also the error message is " a device connected to the system is not functioning." Funny thing is I cannot find this device...

The camera does work on and off, but only for a few seconds, then it displays a "something not functioning/operating" (something like that..) I get no errors or warnings in hardware manager the system seems very stable.

Also the camera works fine on a *almost same spec machine, 1ghz pent 3, 128 mb ram, on board video.

Ok I'm having one hell of a problem installing a webcam on this clients computer. I did a quick type up of whats been going on, so i can come back to it/have a record etc. I need to have a working webcam attached to this system ASAP, any ideas? I've had this "client" for sometime, and I want to get this working...

    - System: Dell Dimension 4100 Desktop.
    128 MB pc133

  • Re: Laptop MB grounding out?

-E-Bay isn't an option for me.

--WNG I really don't know what to tell you. It could be a bad joint, HDD etc...
I'm having the same problems, and cannot fix it...

    UPDATE:

The CD-ROM connector also seems to be out of wack...

I do not have the "trained eye" to fix these problems or the skill... But with some guidance I might be able to do something. (I hope) Sad thing is everything works, but when moved etc notta, really sucks. One thing thats really messing with me; I...

Very Possible I have the board open with just the bottom part of the case holding it. I hooked up the memory, cpu(and fan), monitor, and hard drive. I've been touching the boad very softly in certain places. When I touch right above where the HD connects it goes out (dead). BUT! It now shows an IDE error... It never showed this message before in the "boot screen". I'm going to hook up the keyboard load the os, and try to reproduce this error code 1 and or 2 as in the first post.

    I will...

  • Re: Laptop MB grounding out?

Well I have searched all over the board I see nothing wrong. But then again I don't have "trained eyes". The damn thing seems to work sometimes others notta... now you have to turn it on then off (via power switch) then it works... Other times just no power to anything... What does a bad soder joint look like, and how can I repair it? The components on this main board are VERY SMALL!

    Thanks.

    Light speed. :P

The laptop is an toshiba satellite A15-S129 a rather large laptop.
When It's moved the case "moves/bends" etc. Always has but didn't have this problem before pissy missy had a bitch fit...

@Rainbow Thanks, I'm going to take another look.

    Nothing easy? Time machine?

Also, sometimes when it powers on I get a PWR LED, but nothing else works! CD-ROM, HD, fan, NOTHING!

Is there any material I can pick up to slap inside...

  • Laptop MB grounding out?

Well to make a long story short...

my laptop got tossed by an "angry person", a she devil...

It will power on, everything works! But... When it's moved, bam no video and or BSOD. (certain things seem to "break" every time it's moved.) I figured something was loose etc.. Opened it up reseated everything, checked for cracks on the board, etc.. Everything looked fine, but I'm still having the same problem...

Turns on, everything checks out in windows hardware manager, move it and bam BSOD. As I said something else seems to...

yes. on the opp side.. Well I can't soder THAT well. Again do you think intel would replace it?

    -if intel won't.
so, I have a question, will the intel pentium 4 3.0GHz 800MHz 478pin 1MB CPU work in this board? (850EMVR) I'm not sure it supports the 800mhx FSB, and thre have been so many damn revisons of this board, and not much updated info.

    Thanks for the information guys....
