Re: EVGA GTX 460 - Bad Caps
That's true. But, I got it from EVGA B-Stock. So, it's basically a refurbished product and didn't come with a warranty.
Great card though, that's why I want to resurrect it so badly....

Re: EVGA GTX 460 - Bad Caps
No, I meant what kind of filler metal do I have to use for soldering the caps so they won't come loose while being under pressure in the future. I know there are different fillers and each one has a different melting point and other properties. What would you recommend?

Re: EVGA GTX 460 - Bad Caps
Thanks guys for helping out, I really appreciate that. I got the Chemicon caps. Is there anything else I should bear in mind while installing the caps (what to do so that things don't come loose when they heat up etc.) Also, Do you think changing to higher quality caps will help achieve better over-clocking?

Re: EVGA GTX 460 - Bad Caps
I suspect that's due to the low price. Chemi-Con costs three times more.

Re: EVGA GTX 460 - Bad Caps
I'm thinking of purchasing this as the 8.0mm 270uF 16V and this one as the 6.30mm 820uF 2.5V. United Chemi-Con seems good to me. What do you think?
p.s Please double check the specs just in case I'm making a mistake you can catch it.Re: EVGA GTX 460 - Bad Caps

Re: EVGA GTX 460 - Bad Caps
Thanks for the quick response c_hegge. I know for a GPU VRM I need "Ultra Low ESR" (The "PSC" Capacitors). Do they meet this criteria? Also, I'm not familiar with these brands, could you please tell me what will be the highest quality product I can find in the market to replace all the caps?

The first one is slightly smaller and it's called: f0 820 2.5z
