I had the exact same problem with an 50" emerson that uses same pcb board (BA4GU5G0201 3), after trying power board from another set, and disassembling the screen to check for bad leds I took a chance and ordered in a mainboard from a 40" magnavox that looked the same and had the same pcb model number, same plugs, etc just different part number on the stickers for 20$ on ebay(the right board was 70$ which was more than i was willing to spend) and other than needing a magnavox remote control...

I'd like to thank you for the play by play on repairing this monitor, My vh242 asus power board (715g2824-4-5) had the same problem, i replaced the caps on the power board and it worked for a few weeks then started doing what your is doing, replaced the inverter , same blinking blue light and no picture, I was going to go further but after reading about the problems you had with the mosfets going out repeatedly i just broke down and ordered a new power board from dhgate for 25$, hopefully that'll be the end of it's problems for...
