I was able to download sony_tvupdate_2015_5457_eua_auth.zip from:

https://tv.update.sony.net/OND/0000/...7_eua_auth.zip

and it worked. "...eub..." did not work.

So I confirm the firmware in the link works for the KDL-50W808C, and probably many others in this series.

1. Unzip file.
2. Copy the .pkg file to the root of a FAT32 formatted pen drive.
3. Insert the pen drive into any TV's USB port....

I am trying to update the firmware of my Sony KDL-40W808C to v5.457, the last published by Sony but not available any more from their site.

I have tried your file with different USB drives. It detects the drive has a firmware update file but it keeps saying something like "I cannot update from that USB drive".

Should I try yet another USB drive? Or may be it is not the right file? Is there a file specific to my model?
