I want to thank inflex for his above posts. Recently a friend's C655 laptop died (DEAD! just past end of warranty). Toshiba wanted $354US to fix. I ran across your post, downloaded a bq24725 data sheet, did some tracing and verifying. Q6002, N4800LS (RBFET on bq24725 datasheet) was bad (shorted). Ordered a IRF8113 from Newark Electronics for $.76 (+freight), soldered it in and the laptop boots like new, battery charges and everthing. Howdy from the Ozarks, southern Missouri, USA. I EE'd in '73, returned to family agriculture business, have always dinked around with digital and personal computers, nothing serious. First touch with BAD-CAPS was when I decided to repop the caps on a motherboard. Caps arrived the next day via parcel post in an small envelope. I could not believe the fast response.
