Well as gabik111 already said, not only the right connector is important but the screen also needs the correct eeprom. If its not then brightness control will not work correctly and the screen stays more or less dim. To solve this you need to dump your original eeprom and program in the timing and resolution information obtained from the new screens eeprom. This way you get your replacement screen work flawlessly.

Is brightness controlled via the screens name (which ist stored in the eeprom and compared with a predefined table in the systems bios) or are there some bytes in the eeprom which are read and programmed to the inverter?
