• Re: Insignia NS-32lcd washed out colors

Update: My replacement t-con board arrived today, but unfortunately it didn't fix my issue (same fault as before using HDMI).

Seems like I misdiagnosed my TV here as other analog video inputs aren't looking as bad as HDMI (I only checked HDMI cause that's what I have readily available as a signal source).
Lesson learned for me: Don't jump to conclusions and also test other signal sources as well.
I guess this is where I call it quits with trying to fix this TV here. ...

It's been quite some time, did the new t-con board fix your issue?

I'm having the same issue with the same model of display/t-con board being used, so I just ordered a new t-con board from China (searched for "V320B1-L01-C" on fleabay and found one for less than $10 including shipping, so I guess it's worth a try).

I'll try to remember to post an update when my replacement t-con board arrives (might take 1-2 months tho due to shipping from China...)....

• Re: LiteOn PA-6601-1A (600w) blows its TOP

Just wanted to leave feedback: I've given up on the broken supply here - mostly because I couldn't find some replacement-parts here in Germany (mostly the capacitors around R302 - shipping-costs from mouser and digikey to Germany are overkill...) and because I got a used-one in working-condition from Ebay

Hopefully the one from Ebay will last for a while.

I started to make a list of the parts on the board (attatched to this post - only some of the electrolytic-capacitors are listed...

Thanks for your reply
hmm...so I assume that it's not suitable as a replacement.
I found one at conrad.de: KONDENS. MKP4 0,100uF 400VDC 20% (Conrad Electronic) [German Datasheet]
Is this one suitable as replacement?

That's the datasheet of the Vitrohm-resistor from reichelt.de....

Thanks for your replies
It doesn't feel like a crack when I move over it with my fingernail - but I'm not 100% sure.
The shots of Q352 are attached to this post (the autofocus of my old Canon-EOS20D is a little buggy and I don't have a macro for it, hope the pictures are okay). Q352 isn't shorted and IMO doesn't look faulty.
Shipping costs to Germany from Mouser are a little overkill so I searched at reichelt.de but could only find the following WIMA-ones:

Thanks for your answers

I don't think that I can check that with my multimeter (a PeakTech 3340 DDM) - or at least I don't know how to do so ^^

Hope that the pictures show everything
My desoldering-skills aren't that great, but I got the xformer out which was blocking the view on Q1.

There is something like a scratch or a crack on the left side and on the right side of Q1.

I've got the same PSU from a friend here, but it's not fried yet.
Only R302 was the cause for the "dying-electronics"-smell which came from his PowermacG5 (was immediately shut down when my friend located that the smell was coming from the PSU of his PowermacG5).

R302 looks a little burned. After removing R302 it measures 100.8OHM.
Q302, Q301, Q2, D2 and Q1 aren't shorted (yet). Everything looks fine - except R302.

What do you think is the cause of the failing R302? Does it start to...
