I think it should work, when I had the fans on it before everything was cold to the touch, and heat would wear it down faster.

Have any of you tried fans before?

I was thinking of taking it into a shop to see if they could diagnose it, but if fans could keep it cool it would seem that it would do the trick.

Do you have any idea what component it might be?

Do you think it would be fine it would be fine if I just put a few fans in? Because I'm thinking that if I keep the temperature low it should be fine.

I posted about this earlier this week, but This time I have more info about it. As stated its a 47lg50 and the screen goes off after about a half hour however the backlight and audio stay on just the image goes off.

What I've tried:
1. I tried running it without the back cover and with 2 fans blowing on it, and it ran for about three hours, but then I had to shut it off because I was heading to bed. Every component on the back was cold to the touch

Hi, I have a Lg LCD tv that works fine for a half hour but then the image disappears. The audio and back light stay on but the image goes off. Any ideas on what it might be? I bought this for 50 bucks knowing this thought it would be a fun project. Anyway the previous owner said he replaced both the master and slave inverter boards and no luck. Could it be the psu overheating being that it turns off after a half hour? Also you can turn it off and on and the image goes away after about 5 min. Hi I'm new to this site but it seems like the place to go for this issue.

Anyway, I recently acquired a LCD tv that stays on for an hour then shuts off. I haven't got much time to play around with it. I was thinking it could be the power supply board, but I'm not a hundred percent. Anbody have any thoughts? I can post pics if wanted or go more in depth, I just haven't had it long.
