No, it was normal, Arctic MX-4 paste, the same I use for years. I never had conductivity problems, in the specs it's stated:
Volume Resistivity
3.8 x 10[SUP]13[/SUP] Ω-cm

Acer Predator Helios 300 PH17-54-75K8 no POST after cleaning/repaste
I had an Acer Predator Helios 300 PH317-54-75K8 (MB 6050A3087503-MB-A01(A1)) brought by a client for internal cleaning due to overheat.
Easy laptop, simple proccess, I have done it hundreds of times (literally), didn't even need to remove the motherboard. Just disconnected the battery, the fans, carefully removed the heatsink not to stress CPU and GPU, cleaned, repasted and put back together.
After I assembed it, to my ultimate surprise, the laptop didn't POST. Keyboard backlight lights up, screen does a momentary flash, and then nothing.
It did a sound on POST when...
all of them have about 19 Ohms to GND. The third coil from the left is clearly the one connected to the controller I removed. I'll order a controller and update when I have it replaced
I was surprized too that it P.O.S.T.ed, and even showed the boot menu of my USB drive. I couldn't find schematic, so I have no idea what's its purpose...
Hello. I have the laptop of the title for which I can't find any info at all...
It suddenly stopped working (no power at all).
I located a chip overheating and by removing it the laptop POSTed, but (not suprizingly) did not boot into OS.
The problem is that the said chip is something I have never seen before and couldn't Identify it.
The markings are MPPD 8694 1456 C
Any help would be really appreciated.Thank you in advance!...
Hi everyone!
I have a pretty strange problem with a P200D (Compal LA3831P motherboard): While it turns on just fine on battery, it does not when plugged in (even with battery connected), BUT, the thing is that the battery charges and if I plug it in while turned on, it continues working.
To the details now, the power button does not have 3v as I expected but around 10v when on battery and 16v when on AC. After pushing the button (thus grounding this voltage) it goes near 3v for a few seconds then returns to 16v (if it turns on, it stays at 3v).
Greeting to everyone!
I have a Toshiba L650 that works perfectly good on battery, but does neither charge nor work on external power. I have attached the schematic of the power supply part of the board, so I cut to the chase.
After some experiments I probably destroyed the charging chip (MAX17435ETG+) but it still works the same (even with the IC removed).
I get 19v to the Drain of Q6002 (with adapter on but battery removed) but only 3v on the Source and nothing to the gate (same as before destroying the IC).
With battery on, I get 12v on the source...
